They rode the horse back into the fence. When it stopped, Charles got off first, then he helped Aless off too.

"Well? What did you think?" He asked, grinning.

"Oh, my gosh.. I've never experienced anything like that, not ever." Aless breathed. She felt exhilarated.
"Mhm, I thought so."

They walked out as Charles closed the door, and started walking back. They passed by the brook.
Aless ran over down to the brook.
"Wait! Where are you going??" Charles cried, going after her.

He ran over to find Aless with her shoes off.
She was stepping around in the water, holding her dress to ensure the hem didn't get wet.

The cold, rushing water felt wonderful.
"Oh, I haven't done this in so long." She sighed.

She turned around to see Charles sitting in the grass, smiling at her.
"Last time I did this, it was with Karl. We got so dirty that day, too, it rained the night before and it got muddy. We tried to clean off in the river but it didn't exactly work, the water was too weak."

"Karl..?" Charles asked, raising a brow.

Aless sighed.
"Heisenberg. Karl Heisenberg."
"Lord..?!?... Umm, What?"
Aless went over to sit down beside him. The sunlight sparkles on the water, like glitter.
"Yes, Lord Heisenberg. We've known eachother since we were three years old."
"So you guys are friends?" Charles piped.
"Not exactly. You see, he was taken by Mother Miranda when he was 8. I moved away not long after that. I moved back this year. We, um...
Fell in love."

It hurt Aless to say it. She loved him, she really really did. But she couldn't bear with the fact that he was doing horrible things. That Miranda was indeed a horrible person.

"Ohhhh. That's what you meant by complicated." Charles said quietly.
"Mhm. We love eachother. I'm not so sure anymore though. He.. he performs these crazy experiments.. and it's just.. it's a lot. Long story short, he's kind of crazy. They all are."

"I mean, it could be worse." Charles shrugged.

"But how? How could it be worse?? Imagine almost everyone around you murdered people and used them for experiments, INCLUDING the person you love? Imagine if the person you worshipped for so long was just brainwashing everyone just so she could manipulate them and abuse them?"

Aless looked at him sadly.
Charles sighed.
"I'm sorry that's been happening. I wish I could do something to make it better."

Aless shook her head. "Don't feel sorry. It's not your fault."
He moved closer to her.
"I'm sure there are people out there, Y'know? People who don't do that."
Aless sighed.

"But who? I have nobody, pretty much no friends except for you and Donna and Daniela." She murmured.
He put a hand on hers.

She took notice.
"What are you doing?" She laughed nervously.

"I mean.. I'm here."
He looked down at her soft lips, and leaned towards her.
She jumped back.
"Um. What are you doing??"

He looked at her, startled.
"What does it look like Aless?? I'm trying to kiss you." He grumbled.

Alarm washed over her.
"You mean to tell me, that all of this, this entire time, you just did all of it so I would kiss you??"

He shrugged.
"Well, yeah."

Aless sprang up, putting her shoes back on as quickly as possible. She backed away slowly.
"Where are you going Aless??" He asked.

"You asshole! After all of that, I told you I already love someone, and you try to kiss me!?!?"
