Aless rolled over and moaned softly. She reached over on the side of the bed, expecting her hands to find a warm body to snuggle up to, but found herself patting an empty, cold spot.
She opened her eyes slowly.
Sitting up, she rubbed her eyes tiredly and looked around the room. For a second, she didn't recognize the room she was in, but then she remembered.

Oh. Right. Last night.

She looked around in slight disgust. The room was an absolute disaster, piles of clothes and blueprints and scrap pieces of metal were scattered around. It smelled strongly of cigar smoke. Her eyes fell onto the bed table. A cigar that was recently lit had been put out, resting on an ashtray.

Hmm.
She pushed herself to get out of the warm covers, and went downstairs, looking for Heisenberg.
"Karl?" She called out. Her voice echoed throughout the house as she searched.
When she entered the kitchen, she sighed. Hunger filled her stomach, creating a pit-like feeling.
She noticed a piece of paper folded up on the counter. Curious, she went over to look at it. Her name was on the front.
She unfolded the paper and read the note.

Aless,
I've gone to the factory.
You can stay here for today, if you wish. If you need anything or whatever, you know where to find me.
~ Karl

Aless sighed. Her heart felt warm, causing a faint smile to grow on her face.
She looked in the cupboard and found some bread, and made herself toast. She made herself some tea as well, and sat down to eat and drink. Of course, the dining table was covered in motor oil, blueprints, pencil shavings, and tools, so she sat down in the living room in the couch, watching T.V.
When she finished, she went back upstairs, got dressed and tied up her hair, as per usual.
Passing by Karl's room before she went back downstairs, it felt as if something was pulling her back into the room, calling for her. She tried to ignore it, but couldn't resist.

Oh, god. I have to make the bed. It's the least I could do, she thought, rolling her eyes.
After almost tripping on some metal and having successfully made the bed, she went back downstairs and exited the house. She wanted to go to the factory, so that's exactly where she was headed.

Soon, she entered the factory and went to the respective floor she knew Karl was in. She looked for him, peering into every room. She knew she was getting closer when she heard the sounds of whirring and clanking metal.
She peered into the room where the sounds were originating from, and of course, Karl was there. He was welding something together, with a metal shield on his face, keeping any sharp, hot metal from getting into his eyes or hitting his face.
Aless leaned on the doorframe, watching him work.

After a while, Karl turned off the welder. He took off the helmet, leaned back in his chair, and rubbed the bridge between his nose, sighing. He pushed back his hair, even though it was tied up with a ribbon.
Aless assumed he took from her room.
He tapped his fingers on the desk, whistling.
"Thinking?" Aless said, which startled Heisenberg. He whipped his head around.
"Uhh.. yeah, I guess. What are you doing here?" He asked, scratching his head. Sweat stains under his arms and on his chest marked his shirt, along with grease and oil smears.
Aless shrugged.
"I don't know. I guess I just wanted to see you."
Heisenberg looked back ahead.
"Hey, um... sorry about last night." He said, his voice low.
Aless frowned. "No, don't be sorry. It happens."
Heisenberg exhaled deeply.
"Thanks for being there. Y'know, for, uh, sleeping with me, I guess." He mumbled, shrugging.
He continued to tap on the desk rhythmically.
He wasn't very good at saying thank you, and he was even worse at saying thank you to a pretty girl.
Aless let out a quiet chuckle. She went over to the chair she always sat in, and dragged it right beside him.
"You're welcome," she murmured, trying to make eye contact.
He avoided it.
She looked down at the metal thing he was making.
"So, what are you making?"
He looked up, sighing.
"Honestly? I don't even fucking know. I'm just bored, I guess." Heisenberg laughed awkwardly.
Aless averted her eyes. Suddenly, her eyes lit up.
Heisenberg looked at her confused. "What's the matter?"
Aless's eyes darted to the welder.
"I want you to teach me how to use the welder."
Heisenberg looked at her, blinking in suprise.
"Uhh... I don't know, that's pretty dangerous." He said.
Aless narrowed her eyes.
"What, you don't think I can do dangerous?"
Heisenberg averted his eyes.
"Ohhh... you're just afraid I can make something better than you can with the welder." Aless smirked.
Karl's eyes widened.
"Is that a challenge?" He grinned. Aless shrugged.
"Well, maybe. Maybe not though, it's 'too dangerous', right?" She said. She knew exactly what she was doing, and so did he, but he liked the entertainment.
"Hmm. You know what? Let's do it. Then we'll see who's better." Heisenberg chuckled. After all, he was the engineer. He was curious to see what she would come up with.
