Ten years later.
"Good Morning, Lady Heisenberg!!" a group of children cried out.
"Oh! Good morning, loves!!" The Lady replied sweetly.
When Lord Heisenberg caught up to her, the children waved at him.
"Uhhh... hi?" He waved back weakly, before setting off with his partner.
"Did you get the apples?" Lady Heisenberg asked politely, humming.
Lord Heisenberg sighed and facepalmed.
"No, Aless, I did not get the apples."
Aless frowned and whipped her head around to glare at him.
"Why not?!?"
"... I forgot to write them down."
"Liar. You don't want the apples, do you?" Aless huffed.
"Oh, come on babe. I'm sorry, I'll get them next time."
Aless eyed him suspiciously.
"Promise?" She held out her finger.
"Oh my fucking god."
"Promise?" Aless said, more sternly. Her hazel eyes burrowed into him.
"Ugh. Fine." He laced his pinky with hers.
She smiled.
"Mm. I love you." She kissed him on the cheek, which made him smile a little.
"I love you too."
When they got home, they set their groceries on the table.
Aless got to work, preparing food while Karl was organizing some things.
"How's Soldat Eins coming along?" She hummed.
"Eh. Shitty. Hopefully it'll be better than that damn Sturm." He said while rolling his eyes.
Aless snorted.
"Mhm, when he cut his own arms off I couldn't stop laughing."
"That dumbass." Karl grumbled.
"Oh, baby, don't be so mad all the time. Yesterday you argued with Alcina for the entire meeting. It was kind of annoying to be honest." She murmured the last part to herself.
"I heard that. And yes, it is annoying. Alcina acts like this fucking... stuck up brat. Like she's better than all of us. Bitch."
Suddenly, Aless broke out in a fit of coughs.
"Whoa. Hey, hey." Karl got up and helped her.
"Are you okay? That cough's getting pretty damn bad." He looked into her eyes worriedly.
"Oh, I'm fiiiine." Aless chuckled nervously.
"You go back to what you were doing, okay, sweetie?"
Heisenberg scowled. "Are you sure? I can take over if you-"
"Kaaarl. It's fine." Aless said.
The man sighed. "All right. Fine. I'll be upstairs if you need me. If I hear you cough again, I'm taking over."
He gathered his things, making an 'I'm-watching-you' gesture with his hand as he went into the hall, up the stairs, which made Aless giggle.
As she continued to cook, she let her mind drift off.
She thought about the children from earlier.
Sadness washed over her. She wanted children, and she wanted them bad. But they couldn't.
Because of Miranda.

Aless sighed.
"Ohhh, that was amazing." She giggled, laying down on the bed. Karl was getting up. He was getting a cloth to help her clean up.
"Oh yeah. I'll be right back, baby." He said.
