Three days later
I tore my report from the hospital and threw it in the document box on the edge of my bed. The report approved that I was in high heels and I was drunk. So, I fell to the ground and hit my head on the river stones. I hoped that the report will be forgotten among all the building or other projects I had torn up and threw. I did not want to leave my room. I felt ashamed in front of the whole world. My mother said that this feeling of embarrassment would decrease day by day, but it was the quite opposite. My mood irritated my mother the most. "You have saved your life. That's enough! You are walking around the house like the dead. Wake Up! And Forget! The "motivational" speech by my mother was repeated every single day.
When I entered the kitchen, my mother stood up. At first, I looked anxiously at my Father.
"How do you feel?" he asked.
"I am fine. Dad, didn't you go to work?" I checked with my hand whether the water in the kettle was hot. As soon as I felt the warmth with my hand, I pulled my hand to the right and looked for my dark red teacup with the image of a New Year's tree on it. It was a gift from the 12-year-old daughter of a family which I designed their home last year. I wanted to get my tea quickly and go to my room. My father and I had not seen each other since that night.
When I left the kitchen, my father stopped me. "Sit down," he said softly. There was nothing else I feared more than his short speech. I couldn't do it now. My father was more fragile than my mother. No, we have never seen him cry. But when we do something that displeased him he just stays silent with zero conversation with us. It was enough for us to suffer for days. My mother, unlike my father, was a woman who expressed all her emotions. As a child, I even heard some relatives on my father's side say rude things about my mother. I told everything that I heard to my mother. From that moment on, I was the reason for the endless war between my father's relatives and my mother.
I squeezed my hands around the cup and sat down in front of my father. My mother was sitting between me and my father.
"I'm very angry with you, Natalie," he said.
I knew it would be like that. For at least a year, I know that this mistake would be a headache for me. When I decided to take Paul out of my life, I took all consequences into account and no reason could change my decision.
"Please," I said, pulling my hands out of the cup and putting them on my knees. "Can we talk about that later?" Because now I try to forget everything as much as I can "
He raised his eyebrows and looked at me. "How can you be so careless? I can't believe, you are about to marry such a pathetic sociopath. Do you have no logic? Were your eyes so blind?"
"Chris, calm down," My mother said trying to soften the tense conversation. But after only a few seconds she raised her voice and continued. "Do you know what his mother told me?. Your daughter is the reason what happened that night. Can you believe it? God sake! What kind of family they are" mother stared at my father, waiting for him to support her. When my mother got angry, her eyes always got a little bigger. " They ruined the happiest day of my son"
"Mom, please. Can we please forget about it?! Let's just leave everything behind us. I just want to go on because it is done for me"
"Maybe it is done for you. But I am not sure if for him too" 'said my father. 'You have to be careful. You will go to the office with my driver for a while'
"There is no need to. I do not believe he would like to see me again"
My mother said "Oh girl! What are you talking about? That bastard tried to kill you"
My father interrupted my mother and said, "I am not asking Natalie, I am telling you. You will go with my driver" He continued, looking at me. "You will be careful. But when he comes again and You don't tell me" He pointed me his finger "I won't forgive you".
