The road to love (Legoriel Fanfic)

A meeting by starlight.

Elanor had noticed Legolas' behavior towards Tauriel,and whenever she talked to Tauriel about Legolas,an involuntary sweet smile would flutter across her lips.Elanor started to wonder if something was cooking between them.They reminded her of her own love in Lorien.He too was a guard and she hesitated in telling her father about him.If Legolas was stuck in this situation,she would get him out.She loved her cousin and couldn't see him bothered about anything.She decided to talk to him about it.Perhaps he just needed someone to talk to.

That night,Elanor went to Legolas who was sitting on a tree in the palace garden.Legolas got up to greet her and sat down again.She sat down beside him.He looked at the stars.Elanor was surprised at this notion.
"Since when do you love the stars?"
"Since I became familiar with their beauty",he replied without looking away.
"Let me guess,Tauriel did that?"
Legolas looked down and she sensed a little blush on his cheek and she smiled."That is a yes",she said. Legolas looked at her and nodded.

Elanor laid a hand on his shoulder,Legolas looked at her.
"Can I talk to you about something?",she asked.She knew it was the correct way to tackle him.
Legolas was concerned"Of course"!
"It's about Haldir,a guard in Lorien.Legolas,I love him,but...I dare not tell anyone else.He feels the same way for me,but my father is already so concerned about Arwen wanting to become mortal for Aragorn,I dare not tell him and disturb him anymore."

Elanor's words left a strange impact on Legolas.Here was one who was stuck in a situation much like his own."I wanted to know if you could help wit that,Legolas,I need an idea.I must tell father,I just dont have the courage."
Legolas was touched,he wanted to help but he couldn't.He himself was stuck in the same place.
"Have you ever felt this way?"she asked.
"Yes",he said "but I'm not sure if she feels that way for me,perhaps she thinks of me like more of a friend."he said"and anyways,I may lose her any day to someone who can love her truly and accept her for whatever she is."

Things were working out just as she had planned,Elanor laid her head on Legolas' shoulder.
"Why dont you tell her,Legolas.
Who is it?",Elanor asked though she knew the answer already

Legolas looked down at her,her beautiful eyes shimmered when the starlight hit them,he could easily have loved her,had he never met Tauriel.But he had and he loved Tauriel now and he was willing to shout it out,but his position in the palace and the expectations from his father stopped him,but when Elanor spoke about herself and Haldir,Legolas knew that she was desperate just like he was.Elanor's questioning eyes pierced his and he realized what her question was.Could he answer to that truthfully?Perhaps he could.After all,she was his dear friend and she shared what she felt with him.

"It's..."he hesitated,but then he burst out "it's Tauriel" he said.It was as if a heavy weight was off his shoulders.He breathed and leaned back against the trunk of the tree.
