King Thranduil had gone to console his friend Lord Elrond to Imladris.He had left two days after Legolas' and Tauriel's return.He knew naught of his son's critical condition.
The night Legolas was hurt,Thranduil was in counsel with Elrond.They were talking about their children.Elrond explained how his daughter had assumed herself to be in love with a mortal and was throwing away her immortality for a lowly man. Thranduil listened quietly at first and said,"Same is the case with Legolas.He is attracted to one of our female guards.I have no problem with their friendsip, but love or marriage..?Out of the question"
Elrond nods his agreement."Something must be done about this at once!"
"What do you suggest old friend?"
Elrond thought for a while and said,
"what if these two are joined together?Legolas is a prince and Arwen a lady of Imladris.No one would have to sacrifice anything.."
"Ah,I see what you are getting at,I like the idea"
"Then it is settled?"
Thranduil nods,"It is for their own good"
¬¬¬¬meanwhile in Mirkwood¬¬¬¬
"Captain Tauriel?"she was gently woken up by a healer.She had fallen asleep on Legolas' arm.The look of pain on his face had changed to peace,as if he was sleeping.His breathing was normal.She raised her head.
"May I see the dagger you hurt him with?"Guilt engulfed her heart.SHE had hurt him.SHE was the cause of is pain.She quietly handed over her blade."Hmmm...you meant to kill?"
"Yes..."she said meekly"but not him,Narzug!"
"I know,I know"
Another guard busted into the room looking flabbergasted.
"Captain Tauriel..."he gasped,"Beinion".
"What?what happened to him?"
"He was hurt,really bad."
"How did he get there?He is not an official guard yet."
"He sneaked in behind the guards wearing Mirkwood armour.No one could recognize him"
Tauriel was furious but afraid at the same time.
Oh please let him be okay,she prayed as she left the room,leaving clear instructions to not disturb the prince while he slept.
