The road to love (Legoriel Fanfic)

Tauriel's confessions

Tauriel looked out upon the gardens from the window of her room.She loved doing that,today she saw movement in the garden,it was Elanor.She was walking towards a tree.Following her path,she realized that Legolas was sitting in the tree to which she was headed.Tauriel moved a step behind the curtain,she saw Elanor climb up and Legolas rose to greet her.They talked for a while but Tauriel could not hear what she said to him.She saw Elanor lay her head on his shoulder,and it seemed as if a great sadness engulfed her heart.He loves her she thought not me.Tauriel scolded herself for even thinking that the prince would like someone like her,a mere guard she said to herself.

Immediately,she decicded to step down.She knew now that she had loved Legolas but she would never get that in return from him and she would not hope for it anymore.She would keep those feelings in her heart,for Legolas' happiness and for anyone he loved.A tear trickled down her  face .A gentle knock on her door alerted her and she drew the curtains across the window.She didn't want anyone to disturb Legolas and Elanor.She hastily wiped her face and opened the door.It was Arwen.She called Arwen inside

"Have you seen Elanor?She didn't tell me where she was going and now it's been an hour,hopefully she hasn't run out into the forest"Arwen sounded concerned.
Tauriel throat dried up,she didn't want to tell her,"Um...no I came to my room after patrol and I haven't left since then",which was the truth be it only half of it."Dont worry she can take care of herself"
Arwen nodded,"sorry for disturbing you"
"Not at all!"Tauriel said and let her out.Then she turned and walked towards her bed.She didnt want to go to the window.She was afraid of what she may see.

The next day,Elanor decided to ask if Tauriel felt the same way about him.But Tauriel seemed distant to her.As usual,Elanor went to patrol with Tauriel but there wasn't much chatter between them nor did Tauriel say much to her about the current situation in the woods,which in regular days,she would go on and on about.

During a break,Elanor decided to gather up the courage to talk to her,she took a deep breath and asked her,
"Tauriel,are you familiar with Legolas' feelings for you?"

Tauriel,who had been busy polishing her blade,was surprised by this question and dropped the knife,it's edge had cut her finger and blood oozed slowly out. "WHAT?"she said 
Wrapping Tauriel's finger in a piece of cloth,Elanor continued,"What is there to be surprised about?It's a very simple question."

Of course Tauriel took it in the totally different meaning,she thought it was a test and of course she's testing me to see if I feel anything for Legolas she thought.Tauriel knew Elanor,she would not say anyting to Legolas if Tauriel said that she loved him.This would upset all three of them. Nay,she thought to herself you have already commited to let them be happy.If being with Elanor makes him happy,you should not get in way of his happiness

"No",she said hoarsely to Elanor,she could feel her throat burning and tears well up in her eyes,she would not show them,she had to be brave!

Elanor had sensed the lie in her voice and Tauriel had looked away suddenly.She turned Tauriel's face towards herself,and saw tears threatening to overflow.Her face turned from questioning to concerned.She sighed "Tauriel..why are you lying?"

Tauriel gasped and shut her eyes,the tears ran down her face."Bcause I don't want to be a hindrance between you two"she said and started to cry.
"Oh,no"Elanor said and hugged her friend.Here she was trying to get Tauriel and Legolas together,and here was Tauriel thinking she loved Legolas.She tried to sooth her friend.Tauriel's body shaked with sobs and she said, "I-I don't want to see either of you unhappy, least of all because of me!" 

Elanor took her by her shoulders and made her sit straight."I do not love Legolas and neither does he love me the way you think.Yes we are great friends and I dont know why you thought that,but I donot love Legolas Nay mellon nin!He loves YOU!And that is why I asked you,do you feel anyhting for him?"

Tauriel was calmed by those words.She nodded.Elanor raised her eyebrow,"Go on!"
"I-I love him!" she stammered and collapsed on the ground once again.She could not believe she had just said that!

Elanor smiled."I knew it!"she said. "Don't worry,I have a plan,to get you two together,and I will.That I promise you." Tauriel smiled a watery smile.
