Tauriel rode on, the horse's warm body somehow calmed her but she still trembled of cold. Her wound still throbbed. She leaned down on the horse and pressed the wound against the body of the animal.
That helped a little and she felt dizzy now.The horse,clearly sensing his rider's distress,neighed.
"I'm ok."she murmured
But the horse, being a noble steed he was, knew she was NOT ok so he slowed down to a trot and stopped in a village they passed, in front of a house. Tauriel decided that resting was best for her and clambered off the horse and knocked at the door.

A little girl opened the door and her eyes widened."CAPTAIN?"She asked.
Tauriel smiled and nodded."Mama!"the girl yelled and her mother came into view.She was dressed simply.
"Do come in"she helped Tauriel inside, despite being surprised, and seated her comfortably. The little girl hobbed behind them.

"What happened to you?"she asked after her mother had gone to get something to eat.
"I was captured and tortured by goblins"
"Oh no!"the little girl examined her wound and broken arm and the slash across her face. She seemed distraught.
She ran outside the house and came back with some ointment.She rubbed it across Tauriel's face.It immediately felt better.She smiled."Here,put some there too"she pointed to Tauriel's stomach.Tauriel nodded.
Just then the mother came in with some berries and lembas on a plate.Tauriel gobbled them down.
"Send word to the palace.Tell them Elrond needs help"she said.
"I have sent word my lady"the mother said."Now you rest,"she said to Tauriel and took her to bed and as soon as tauriel climbed under the sheets,she fell asleep

¬¬¬¬in Mirkwood palace¬¬¬¬

Word reached from a village of Captain Tauriel being back and Lord Elrond needing help.Now a search party was sent for Elrond and Legolas decided to go get Tauriel.He took Arwen who had come to the palace the previous day.

Soon they reached the village and Legolas was led to the house where she was.
Arwen went in and reported she was inside and sleeping.
Legolas went in and decided to wait till she was awake.He wanted to hold her,but she was hurt,he could not get himself to touch her in case he disturbed her,so he merely looked at her peaceful face and worried what would happen to her when he told her about Thranduil's decision that he was to marry Arwen.
Arwen probably guessed that, as she lay a hand on his shoulder."She'll be fine"she whispered to him.Legolas nodded.
She had to be.
