Fun and games in the 501st

Freedom day

Rex turned over: (y/n) had introduced him to the concept of a "real lay in" over the past year and he loved it. The sun came into the room perfectly warming him up. Perfect bed. Perfect tranquility. Until suddenly the front of his boot was somehow in his mouth.
"GET UP YA LAZY ASS!"
Rex jumped out of his skin and bolted upright to see his partner speed dressing.
"If I wake up I'm working too hard if I lay in I'm lazy please make up your mind." he spat out the shoe.
"They're opening up the kriffing gates again and I wanna see the others!"
Rex sighed, yes he was happy to be let out of the temple again however the quality time with his significant other would be lost. He was surprised at himself of how quickly he got used to living in the temple. If course he trained vigorously but there was so much time just to sit back. He didn't have a Legion with the mental capacity of a burnt pillow to take care of.
During a time he had snuck into the temple, a youngling had went into a forbidden room, thus letting out a toxic gas and the temple had to be locked down. In his absence however he had still been heavily involved in battles and thinking of tactics. To equate to the physical side he had been training more and more. Also (y/n) had taught him something quite intriguing: how to use a Lightsaber.

Meanwhile on the other side of things Kix had to take Rex's job of being the mother to the 501st. He had never had so much Caf in his life. Give him a spade at any moment and he would have dug his own grave and buried himself. He had no idea how Rex did it all.

(y/n) was the first one out the door and Fives was the first one to yeet it up the Stairs. They didn't romantically love eachother but neither could function without the other and this time apart was equal to the seventh circle of hell.
With tears going at the pressure of a fire hose the pair leaped onto eachother.
"(Y/N)! 😭😭😭😭"
"FIVES 😭😭😭😭"
"NEVER BE THAT FAR AWAY FROM ME AGAIN!!!😭😭😭😭"
"I'LL YEET MYSELF OUT OF THE NEAREST WINDOW IF THAT HAPPENS AGAIN 😭😭😭😭!"
"HEY YA MISSED THE REST OF US?!" Kix and the others came up the stairs grinning.
They all had abit of a group hug outside the door. Rex, (y/n), Tup, Kix, Jesse, Fives, Echo, and Hardcase: the dream team known as Creshda was back together again.
"So what are we doing now?"
"Hardcase chill out it's been five minutes."
"The first ten seconds was painful enough! >:("

They eventually got back to the Twilight, then the real chaos began. Everyone as usual started talking over everyone at once.
"I'm so glad you're back."
"so am I."
"wanna prank?"
"hell yeah!"
"oh god no!"
"I made some adjustments to the ship and weapons-"
"Nobody cares echo!"
"can I just sleep?"
"why?"
"because I never want to do your job again ಥ_ಥ "
"So what are we doing CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME?" Hardcase moaned.
"Firstly we are gonna pick Thorin back up from the cattery then we decide from where to go."
Rex frowned, "why is he in a cattery?"
"because nobody else could take care of him why we went on a mission," Echo pouted, "I missed him so much.

After getting a cat back (and mopping up Echo's tears after swiftly realizing again he was allergic to the animal he loved) they decided that going to Naboo and waterfall diving was the best way to spend their day; it was free and had minimal effort (however echo didn't like how unorganized it all was (Fives produced a book and a lighter and his mood suddenly changed))

A couple hours later they caught view of a massive waterfall and prepared for landing.
Echo frowned at the control panel, "what's beeping?"
Jesse scoured the copilot side, "can't see anything wrong- wait the doors open."
"WHY THE HELL IS THE DOOR OPEN?!"
(y/n) was stood by the door grinning.
Rex just sighed "(y/n) no."
"(y/n) yes." she jumped backwards out of the door.
Rex shoved his head around the side, "GET BACK IN HERE!"
"I DON'T THINK GRAVITY WORKS THAT WAAAAYYYY!"
Fives and Hardcase exchanged some grins.
"Fives, Hardcase, Don't you dare-"
"Off ya go sir." they kicked him out of the door followed by a screaming tup; Kix was given diplomatic immunity as he was holding the cat.
Tup was hugging tightly into Fives, "TUPS AREN'T DESIGNED TO FLY!"
"YOUVE DONE THIS A MILLION TIMES ON MISSIONS!"
"THAT WAS WITH ARMOUR AND A JET PACK 😭😭😭"

Thanks to their oh so careful guestimations, the water was deep enough for them. Tup crawled back onto the sand.
"ya like that?"
"Screw you!"
Jesse came out of the ship, "Do you have any idea how hard it was to land here?!"
"that's why you're the copilot."
Thorin was let down onto the sand. He had never seen past the base until now. So many new colours and smells and a weirdly massive water bowl... Let's investigate that- big mistake.
He leapt into the water only to realize it was freezing cold and felt horrible. The others couldn't help but be amused as he screamed and clawed his way up Rex's head.
"Ya comfortable yet?"
He got a sarcastic meow in response and leapt if his head back to dry land and proceeded to attack a random plant for no particular reason. Echo made a complete fuss of him.

"when the war ends dya wanna live somewhere like this? It's calm and adventurous at the same Time." Fives swam on his back.
"would be nice but too much of a safety hazard." Tup motioned to Hardcase who was somehow drowning in ankle deep water.
Jesse pulled Hardcase up by the head and scowled at him, "this is why we can't have nice things."
"This is why I want to live away from people." Kix rolled his eyes.

"Echo can ya stop spoiling the cat? He's getting tubby."
">:( No he isn't!"
"Then why is his stomach so round- wait..."
Fives and Echo turned to eachother.
Kix piped in, "ya did check to see if thorin was a boy or a girl right?"
They hadn't. And they had left Thorin in the area where all the other male cats were...
"Well no time like the present." Hardcase lifted up his tail to check.
It want what he expected to see; or rather not see.
"Echo, Tup, Fives?"
"Yes?"
"Congrats you're gonna be grandparents."
