Fun and games in the 501st

Nightmares

Abit short but oh well.

It was about 1am and Rex, Kix, headshot, Fives, Echo and Jesse were in the bar drinking,
Somehow None of them were hammered.
They were celebrating the success of a recent mission which they were guaranteed to lose. (y/n) was the main reason how it had turned out alright because to freeze a vast amount of droids and blaster bolts for about a minute; but that minute was all that they needed.
Rex eventually got up, "I think I'd better head back to the barracks."
"why, come on Rex just stay a little more you never go back this early!" Fives threw his hands in the air.
"I want to see (y/n) for abit." he replied.

She usually came with them to celebrate but unsurprisingly she was ridiculously tired.
Rex did flag it up with her before he went Out and she explained to the best of her abilities while being face flat on her bed.
"there's a vast difference of using the force and fighting against it. The longer you fight with it the more it doesn't like it and it drains you." she turned round with her eyes still shut, "Kriff If it held tabs on me for the amount of times I have I don't think I'd be here." she laughed.
The last part was a lie and Rex knew it. She was being punished for using the force the way she did, she had been for a long time, and she would be for the rest of her life.

"come on your with her like 90% of the time now!" Fives complained
"maybe because she's his girlfriend?" Echo sarcastically said, "Fives if you get one you might understand."
"oh and you do?" he retorted, "the only other here who might eventually get that is Kix."
"I'm right Here." Kix said thought gritted teeth, slightly annoyed and embarrassed.
Headshot ironically had fallen asleep on Kix's shoulder. They all knew it was only a matter of time 😏.
"yeah maybe then you will actually learn how to drink." Jesse laughed.
Kix never drank alcohol. He got paranoid about drinking it from being taught what it did to others health. He knew that it was only excessive drinking that would cause harm but he still wouldn't touch it none of the less.
Jesse had been taking the Mick out of him all night.

"come on Fives she just won a battle for us, she did want to come out." Rex went into abit of a defensive state.
"fair play." he replied, she did risk alot on the battlefield for beings that were deemed expandable, especially when creshda force was sent on missions.

Rex eventually left and headed back to (y/n)'s room. She was fast asleep. He took his armour and the top of his blacks off and went to sleep with her.

He had drank abit that night so he didn't wake up everytime (y/n) turned around in her sleep.

Quite a few hours after Rex fell asleep, it was early in the morning.  (y/n) broke away from him. She started quietly whimpering. Usually this was enough to wake Rex up and wake her up before her nightmare got too bad but this time he didn't.
Her breathing got faster as she flipped around and kicked in her sleep starting to cry.
And her crying became louder it was enough for even an intoxicated Rex to wake up.
He quickly turned round to see the young Jedi
seeming to be struggling in her sleep tears streaming down her face.
"(y/n)!(y/n)! Wake up you're dreaming."

(y/n) woke with a scream, shaking.
She broke down into a crying shaking mess sobbing into his shoulder.
"shhhhh shhhhhh your okay, your okay."
He hugged her tightly rubbing her back.
He felt particularly guilty for Not hearing and waking her up before.
It took a fair while to calm her down more and even by then she was still shaking.
Rex gently coaxed her onto him and wrapped his arms around her.
"shhhhhhhh your safe, your safe." he gently whispered kissing the top of her head. She slowly stopped shaking and cuddled into him, her breathing was starting to get less shaky.
He was warm. She felt safe when he was holding her.
Soon she was asleep.
When Rex was sure, he closed his eyes. He didn't fall fully asleep. He was just resting there, holding the jedi he loved.
