[Chapter Five]

I could hear Deku's soft breathing from beside me. He was asleep, obeying my words when I told him to lay down. That shitty nerd hasn't slept in two days, and he yells at me for it. He was exhaused; I could see the dark circles under his eyes and the lines marking his face. I figured I looked just as bad.

I looked back at the computer screen. My finger ran across the rim of the can to the energy drink I bought earlier. I looked back to the chip resting on the table. The case that protected it was cracked open from where Deku and I tried to put it into the computer, only to discover it didn't work.

I sighed, grabbing my com and slipped in it my ear. "I.V.A.N,"

"Yes, Dynamight?" The AI said.

"Do you have any clue what's on that chip?" I asked, my voice low.

"Without seeing it, I do not. Y/n made many data chips while I was configuring. However, all but two of them require a password and voice recognition to access,"

I tapped my fingers. "Do you know that password?"

"I do. But I am not authorized to tell even you, Dynamight. I have the two other chips embedded into my system. Would you like me to project them?"

"Project them...?"

I watched as the screen in front of me changed. I.V.A.N must have been doing this. He clicked on a file before entering a password. He clicked on a file labeled 'Test #1'.

"Is it working?"

I felt my breath hitch in my throat at the video that started to play. Y/n back away from the camera, tilting her head a few times. He put her hands on her waist.

"I.V.A.N? Can you hear me, buddy?"

As the AI replied, I saw something flash behind her. Y/n quickly turned, yelling something out.

"Mei!" She shouted. "Don't fly anything! I'm testing something--!"

"Watch your head!"

Y/n scrambled forward, but before she could get close enough, the camera footage cut out. This time, she sitting down, her hair now pulled up. Grease was smeared across her cheek, and she was tapping the side of her head.

"I.V.A.N,"

"Yes, Y/n?"

"Record this as..." She glanced at a notebook. "'Test #17'. Today, I'm programming two other admins."

"Okay. Voice recognition is required."

She rustled around to the side before pulling a small tape recorder out. I heard my own voice, and my own name. "Bakugou Katsuki. His hero name is Dynamight."
