The next day, Nick and I decided that we would go to the beach. I put on my favourite aqua bikini and soon after Nick knocked on the front door. We left and started to listen to the radio in Nick's car. Instead of lip syncing the lyrics, he was singing them. Nick knew the words to every song. After an hourlong drive, we finally arrived at the beach. The sand was glowing from the shining rays of the sun and the water was clear. It was a perfect day for the beach. Nick and I headed down to the sand, running as soon as our feet touched it because of its heat. We picked a spot to sit and then Nick ran straight into the water. I decided that I would just lay on my towel for a while (the water was probably freezing). After five minutes, I felt a pair of arms scoop me off of my towel and next thing I knew, I was chucked into the water by the owner of the arms, Nick. He started to run further down the beach, knowing that I wasn't going to be happy. I chased him until he finally stopped. Nick picked me up once again and ran to the water. He dropped me into the water and then swam further out. I followed him. After playing around in the water we decided just to lay on the sand. Nick put his arm around me and we started to talk about anything that came to mind. This was one of my favourite things about Nick. We could talk about nothing but still have the best time because we are in each other's company.
We stayed at the beach for the whole day and before we knew it the sun was starting to set,
"It's so beautiful," I said to Nick, admiring the sunset. He looked at me and smiling he said,
"Not as beautiful as you though," I slightly giggled at his cheesy comment. Nick always tried to make me smile or blush. The sun was nearly completing gone from the horizon. Nick and I decided to head home, but he said he wanted to do something before we left,
"Close your eyes. It's a surprise," Nick said to me. I knew that this was probably going to be cheesy too, but anything that Nick did for me I both appreciated and loved. It was only seconds before Nick told me to open my eyes again. When I did I looked at the sand in front of me and smiled. It read :
Nick + Grace
The words were written in a love heart. I was right when I said that it was going to be cheesy,
"Do you like it?" Nick said hopefully. I looked at him and replied,
"It's beautiful," I walked to Nick and hugged him. He kissed me on the forehead and then took a photo of what he called his masterpiece. We left the beach afterwards, happy with the memory that we had just created.
