A couple of months later my parents had requested that Nick an I go over to their house for dinner. We said that we would but we had no idea what they had in store for us. We got there and Nick's parents were there too. We knocked on the door and Nick's mum answered it,
"Hello guy, how are you? I haven't seen either of you in ages!" Nick's mum gave both of us a hug and then lead us into the house. Nick and I went to say hello to his dad and my parents. They were all busy cooking dinner. We were told to go and sit in the living room. We did what we were told, wondering why our parents seemed so excited. After a while they told us that dinner was ready so we could go into the kitchen again. Nick and I walked in hand in hand. The table was set with a clean white table cloth, candles and new placemats. Our parents had gone to so much trouble and I had a feeling that we were going to found out why soon,
"Take a seat guys. We are having spaghetti for dinner," My mum said bringing over the bowls of food,
"I'm sorry to ask, but why have you guys gone to so much trouble just for dinner?" Nick questioned curiously. Our parents huddled as if they were thinking of whether or not to tell us,
"We have a surprise for you guys, so close your eyes and put your hands out," Nick's mum spoke gently. Once again we did as we were told and a couple of seconds later I felt paper in my hands. I opened my eyes. It was a plane ticket to Hawaii,
"Are you actually serious? You guys are the best!" I got up from my chair and went around to hug mine and Nick's parents. Nick did the same,
"We thought that you guys could use a holiday. You haven't been on one together either so we thought that you would enjoy it," My dad said explaining why they had got the tickets. I was still in shock. I was speechless. The ticket said that we were leaving in one week. Excitement rushed through my body. We had a lovely dinner and then watched a movie together. It was one of the best nights of my life.Nick and I left after we watched the movie. We made sure to thank our parents once again but to be honest saying thank you twice was still not going to be enough,
"I can't believe they did that for us. I'm so excited," Nick said smiling. I was excited to be able to go on holidays with him. We would leave so many problems behind here and just have a week of relaxing,
"I'm excited too. It's going to be amazing," I kissed Nick on the cheek. Now the hard part came, packing.
