Nick's POV
The doctors had done some X-rays on Grace's arms, legs and chest. She had broken her elbow in her left arm, her ankle in her right foot and six ribs. I couldn't imagine the pain that she was in. Grace got a cast put on her arm and her foot. She looked broken. To my surprise we had got some mail from some of our friends back home. Harry sent Grace a beautiful letter saying how much he loves her (as a friend might I add) and that he hoped she has a speedy recovery. He sent some of Grace's favourite chocolates too. Onika, Skye and Lexi had sent another letter saying how much they miss Grace and that they wish that they could be by her side. Some of the language that they used in the letter saddened me. In some parts of it, they were talking as if Grace was going to die. It just went to show that they don't have any faith or belief that it could only get better from here. We all had to stay positive, otherwise things weren't going to work out.
The next couple of days flashed by and we still hadn't heard anything important from the doctors. To be honest all I wanted to hear from them was that Grace was going to be released from the hospital. I hadn't left Grace's room ever since I got here that dreaded day. Grace's parents had brought me food and of a night time I just slept in a chair. Although it was uncomfortable, I wasn't leaving Grace's side for anybody or anything.
That day I was just sitting next to Grace, talking to her about pointless things, when I heard footsteps coming towards us. To my surprise I saw a doctor standing in front of me. It was the same doctor that told me that Grace might not live,
"Hello Grace and Nick, I hope you are both doing well. I've got some things to inform you about if that's alright," He spoke in a monotone voice. Practically all of the doctors here did. The only difference with this one was that I could tell that he genuinely cared about Grace's health. I wanted to hear the news he was about to give us. I didn't mind if it was good or bad, at least it would give me a better understanding of what's happening to Grace, what her future is.
