"Nico, I wasn't expecting you today..." Tina shocked.
"Probably," Nico sighs, "cause I didn't call."
"So, what's up?" Tina hurled the huge duffle bag into the trunk of the Jaguar.
Nico followed her to the vehicle, "With Hana in a business trip in Aspen, I need to talk to someone..."
Tina closes the trunk, "Why not Karolina?" Nico stayed silent; Tina realized, "Oh..."
"Yeah." Nico closed.
Tina nods, "Let's go inside." She enters the house.
Nico followed Tina to the kitchen and watched as Tina poured tea into two cups. Tina gives one to Nico, "So..."
Nico looks at the teacup, "Karolina and I are happy, don't get me wrong, but when I saw Alex yesterday... I don't know. Did I make a mistake marrying Karolina? Should I have stayed with Alex? Mom, what do I do?" Tina shrugs. "Mom, please... I need someone to tell me what to do."
Tina places the teacup on the counter, "You don't need me to tell you what to do... Who would you rather spend your life with? Alex or Karolina?"
Without thinking Nico immediately said, "Karolina..." and then quickly added, "but I don't want to lose Alex."
"Makes sense..." Tina nodded.
Nico tilted her head and looked confused, "Huh?"
"You love Alex like a brother..." Tina picks up her teacup, "you grew up together."
"But, so did Karolina and I..." Nico asked, "does that mean I love Karolina like a sister?"
Tina looked at her daughter, amused, "Without thinking you answered my question... that tells me that in your system, you know Karolina is your soulmate. That you can't live without her..."
Nico looked surprised at her mother's words, "Who knew you were good at giving advice?"
"And yet, you and your sisters don't do what I say..." Tina smirks.
"Have you ever listened to Hana's lectures?" Nico scoffed, "It always comes from your advice, she just puts her own spin on it..."
"So," Tina nods, "she does listen to me."
