chapter 9

Toni's POV

I begin to head into the woods with Martha, and when we are out of sight from the others she turns to me.

"Toni I know." She quickly blurts out

I start to panic and my heart begins to race, I mean does she know about me and Shelby.

"What uh what do you mean?" I ask

"Toni I know about you and Shelby I mean when you like someone you go all soft and I can tell that's what's happening." she says while smiling

"What are you talking about we are just friends your completely misreading the situation." I say quickly

Marty gives me a look that says I know your lying.

I stay silent for a minute trying to find a way to backtrack this but there is no backtracking she knows.

"Yeah okay, you got me." I say while staring at my feet

"Ahhh I knew it." Marty screams

"You two are so cute, and I am super happy for you." Martha says while smiling at me

"Yeah Shelb is so, uh I don't know she makes my world stop." I say while blushing

"Oh, Toni I am happy your happy I mean Regan did a real number on you so this is nice." Martha says

"Yeah, for the first time in a long time I feel really good, she's helping me with patience and control and honestly I don't think I would be able to survive this island any longer without her." I say while blushing

Martha just gives me a look and smiles.

"Well enough about me, you and Rachel have been getting super close lately." I say

"Yeah I don't know I found her frustrating at first but there is a really soft sweet person under all that and she's a good friend, but let's be clear she could never replace you." Martha jokes

"Yeah no one could ever replace you either Marty but I'm glad you are friends with Rachel, coming from another one of your very angry and aggressive friends I know that you're good at working with that and I think you will really help Rachel just like you help me." I say

"Yeah." Martha says with a smile

"Okay well let's get those fish and head back." I say with a giggle 

After almost 2 hours we are back to camp the fish were real easy to catch and we were walking extra fast so it was a quick trip.

"Hey guys, the fire is going and ready for those fish." Dot says

"Okay cool, we got berries and lychees to." Martha tells Dot

Me and Martha go and sit by the other girls and I pull Shelby aside.

"Hey, Shelb Martha knows." I whisper nervously

"What ah, what do you mean?" Shelby asks

"Well you know she knows me so well, she knows when I like someone and she told me she figured us out." I say

"Oh well um that's cool is she gonna say anything." Shelby asks nervously

"No she's not." I confirm

"Oh okay, well honestly Toni I'm not sure if I would mind because all I want to do right now is kiss you." Shelby says while smiling

"Oh really." I tease

She giggles and we head back towards the other girls.

"Alright bitches foods done let's get wasted." Fatin yells

"Hahaha, alright." Dot says

After we eat we have all been drinking for a while and we keep dying laughing at the most random stuff.

"So Shelby you gona suggests some games?" Marty jokes

"Duh, what do yall wanna play?" Shelby asks

"How about spin the bottle." Fatin says while winking at me and Shelby

"I'm down." Dot says while laughing

"I'm down too and don't worry I'm not gonna be a bitchy prude this time, I got a little liquid courage." Shelby says while giggling

"Nice, all go first." Fatin says

Fatin spins the bottle and it lands on Leah she leans over and they share a small peck and giggle. Then Dot spins and it lands on Fatin.

"Oh yeah more action for me, I have been waiting for this moment for a long time Dorothy." Fatin jokes

Dot smiles and they lean over to kiss it lasts a lite longer than this kiss with Leah but still only for a few seconds, Shelby is up next and I am only two people away from her so she looks at me and taps it very lightly It's so close to pointing to Marty but luckily It's pointing at me. Leah makes a shocked face and she waits to see what's about to go down.

"Alright well come hear Shelb." I say and smile at her

She smiles back then leans over I was expecting a small peck since we were in front of the other girls but she grabbed my face and passionately kissed me for a long minute, we finally break away for air and she backs up with her cheeks all red.

"Damn." The girls exclaim

As the game continues all I can think about is how badly I want to do that again. Eventually, though the other girls fall asleep and once the coast is clear I walk over to Shelby.

"Hey, that was really brave ya know." I say to Shelby

"Thanks, I was waiting to kiss you all night." Shelby jokes

I pull her in for another kiss and suggest we lay down.

"Night Shelby." I say

"Night" she says back
