Chapter 17

Tonis POV 

Today is August 5th 

I wake up to the sun glaring in my eyes. Last night was hard it was like a depressing share circle.

"Morning sleepy head." Shelby says starling me 

I lean over and check one of Fatins watches for the time 

"Sleepyhead, It's like 6 am." I say with a laugh 

"Yeah I know I couldn't sleep." She replies 

"Hey, you okay?" Shelby asks clearly knowing something is up 

"Yeah, uh last night was just a lot." I  tell her

"I understand it looked like you were having a hard time I mean it must have been hard keeping that secret." Shelby says 

There is a beat of silence but I can tell she still has something she wants to say so I nod to let her know she should continue. 

"Well uh, you know you could have told me right, I mean we tell each other everything."Shelby explains 

"Yeah I know Shelbs but it wasn't my story to tell, It's Marthas and if anyone knows that should be her decision." I tell her 

She just nods back at me and smiles. 

"Hey, do you wanna go for a walk or something." I suggest in an attempt to lighten the mood  

"Yeah, that sounds nice." Shelby replies as she grabs my hand and drags me up

As we walk I squeeze her hand tight and lean my head against her shoulder.  I start to hear a loud noise and the wind is blowing like crazy. when I look up to see what's going on I see it..... it's the most beautiful thing I have seen in my life, well second to Shelby of course. It's a plane and it's close to the ground, I have never been so happy to see anything in my life. I let go of Shelby's hand and throw my hand in the air. 

"HELP HELP HELP." I scream 

Shelbys POV 

As we are on our walk I look up and there's a PLANE, I know I should be happy but I just freeze.

"Oh my god, Shelb we are saved." Toni says as she hugs me tight 

But I can't smile or hug her back I just can't move. I'm terrified of going home I know it's time I know I need to but I also know I will have to go right back into the hole I just dug my way out of and I can't bear that. 

I see the plane begin to land and Toni runs up to it but I just stay still.

"Hi, Oh my god we have been here for so long... uh there are more of us we are gonna go grab them real quick." Toni exclaims 

"Okay, we can help get your things." The men in the plane replied

Toni grabs my hand and begins to run, she is basically just dragging me as we run back to camp. 

"Guys get up, there's help we're going home." Toni yells

everyone begins to open their eyes and smile in amazement. 

"Come on guys pack your shit those guys said they would help bring it to the plane." Toni exclaims 

As we all grab our few things and throw them in Martha and fatins suitcases I begin to cry and I can't stop.

everybody runs towards the plan but I don't, this is still just so much and I feel like I can't move or breathe. 

"Shelby why did you stop we have to go babe come on." Toni says as she grabs my arm and pulls me towards the plane

She begins running faster still dragging me behind and that's when I trip on this huge rock my ankles swells up and it hurts like hell. 

"owe shit." I exclaim as I fall to the ground

"Fuck, Shelby I'm sorry are you okay."Toni asks apologetically

"Yeah I'm fine babe, I just think I may have twisted it." I explain 

Toni lifts me up and carries me on the plane. As we enter I see all the girls already seated

" Yo Shelby, what happened?"Fatin asks 

"Oh, I uh tripped on a rock its fine tho." I tell her

Toni carries me to the back of the plane and sits me by the window then takes her seat next to mine. As soon as she sits down I pull her face to mine, she responds eagerly and bites my bottom lip. Eventually, though we have to come up for air. 

"Wow, what was that about?" Toni asks while trying to catch her breath

"I'm just.. I'm really gonna miss you." I say tears filling my eyes

"Hey remember what we talked about the second you turn 18 you can leave and we can be together, and in the meantime, we can text and face time. " Toni says trying to comfort me

"You still have my number written down right?" Toni asks 

"Yeah, I do." I say still chocking on tears 

I lean my head on her shoulder and she runs her finger through my hair. I just can't help but think about how much I'm gonna miss her soft skin and her lips and her fiery personality. I'm gonna miss everything about her. 

"Shhh it's okay I got you." Toni whispers

Writer- Hey guys I'm sorry it keeps taking me so long to update but don't worry I won't stop the story till it's done anyway though we are getting to bunker scenes so that's exciting. I hope you guys liked this chapter. XOXO
