Harley's POV
I pull my shirt off as soon as we get there cause godamn it's hot out here and Benny mumbles "you're cute" and I mumble "no hickeys? You're so kind" and we chuckle and he jumps in, splashing all our friends and I go over to Wendy and I say "how's work?" Before this I went home and changed into trunks in case I was tempted to swim right now which is probably unlikely but whatever, right? She says "hey, it's alright, just waiting for someone to cause trouble" and I chuckle saying "I'm guessing you don't get too much of that till these weirdos show up?" She chuckles saying "very true, girls complained to me the last time Hamilton Porter jumped in cause he splashed them as if I can fix it for them." I chuckle saying "it's a pool on a weekday, mostly kids are going to be here, just stop" and she says "right?" We chuckle and she says "what have you been doing?" I say "not too much, hanging out with the guys, sleeping, I don't do too much" and we chuckle and she says" me either, I'm either walking around or I'm here." I say "where you walking to though?" She chuckles saying "it's mainly window shopping" and I chuckle saying "that's always fun" and she nods saying "you can always find something when you do that." I say "right" and she says "it's so hot" and I say "I know right, can't imagine sitting out here all day" and she says "we both do that on a daily" and I chuckle saying "that is true, were dedicated" and we chuckle. She says "well, I get money for it, you do it for free" and I say "that means I'm really dedicated to literally nothing" and we laugh. She says "oooo, I think you're hot but that ones hotter" and it's Jeremy. Again. I say "no hurt feelings but he's not a good person just trust me on this one, ok?" She says "I doubt you but ok" shrugging and I mumble "he's my ex boyfriend and he pulled a gun on me in front of a bunch of young teenagers a couple days ago." She says "I can tell him to leave" and I say "you're an angel, I owe you" and she gets down off the stand saying "I'll keep that in mind" smirking and I chuckle and she walks away. I get in the pool just near my man cause Jeremy isn't messing with me today and Benny says "what's going on?" I mumble "Jeremy is here again" and he mumbles "and you made Wendy talk to him?! Are you nuts?!" I mumble "she'll be just fine, babe, he's here for me, not her, she offered to tell him to leave and he is leaving you see" nodding and he smiles saying "you're good at this whole avoiding people thing." I say "I try very hard" chuckling and Jeremy is gone and I get out saying "I gotta thank her" chuckling and he smiles saying "you do that" and I get out. I go over to Wendy saying "you're wonderful" and she chuckles saying "thank you, you should get a restraining order or something" and I chuckle saying "that would be smart." She says "that's for sure" biting my lip and she says "ugh, I need a boyfriend" and I say "I'm surprised you can't find any here" and she says "I know, you normally find someone to talk to here." I think she's over me so that's nice, I was looking to be her friend anyway in the first place. She says "omg, I get off in half an hour, you owe me, you're gonna be my wingman" and I say "alright, I have a date tonight but I have like five hours, sure" and she says "awesome, you have a date? You haven't been here long" and I say "I work fast" and we chuckle and she says "fair" chuckling and we hang out for a little bit and the guys decide to walk home and I say "I'll meet you back here in half an hour?" She says "sure, yeah" smiling and I walk home with Benny and all the other guys and Benny mumbles "what was that?" I mumble "I owe her and she asked me to be her wing woman basically so were going out to get her a man after this" and he chuckles saying "that's fair." I walk up to his house with him and he says "I love you" and I say "I love you too" and he pecks my lips saying "I'm picking you up at eight, be ready" and I bite my lip saying "ok" nodding and I go home. I change out of wet clothes and I go back to the pool and she's wearing a dress and her makeup is done. I say "you look fabulous, you ready? Where do we wanna go?" She says "thank you, lets just walk around and see what we find?" I say "good idea" and we walk around and she says "keep a look out for me" and I chuckle saying "I am, I am" and we just people watch as we walk around and there's this group of guys. They seem about our age and I say "they're hotties" and she says "ooo, the one with black hair" and I say "he's hot" and she says "I'm gonna go for it" and I say "go do it" and she walks over and talks to these guys. They all seem into her because she is the hottest girl in town, it's not just Squints being into her, it's everyone. I bite my lip and she comes back saying "you can go, they invited me to hang out" and I say "you go, girl" and we laugh and she high fives me. She says "go get ready for your date" and I say "right, I'll see you at some point, tell me how it goes" and she says "for sure" nodding.
