Harley's POV
I say "so how did this happen anyway, love?" Benny says "well, I hit a ball and I busted it" and I say "you busted a ball?!" He says "yeah" and I chuckle saying "that's nuts, ok, carry on my love" and he pecks my lips saying "then Scott said he had a ball, I told him he could hit first cause it was his ball, he hit it over the fence then said it was what it was, we all were freaking out then you showed up and now were here." I bite my lip saying "damn, I love him but he's so fucking dumb sometimes" kissing him and he says "we'll be fine" yawning. He rests his head on my shoulder, taking his hat off and he puts it in his back pocket mumbling "you're gorgeous, I appreciate you" and I smile, rubbing his back and he smiles against my neck. We go to Vincents to meet up with the guys and they're all going there to get a ball when we get there and they bring the ball out and Bertram hands Benny a pen. Benny forges Babe Ruths signature and I say "you could get a lot of things like that but you gotta learn how to spell the name first" when I see the 'e' at the end of Ruth. We all laugh and Benny rolls his eyes saying "shut up" and I bite my lip and he hands the ball to Scott and he brings it back home. I smile and we hang around till he comes back then we all go back to the sandlot and they spend the rest of the day trying to get that ball from the other side of the fence.
A couple hours later
I say "what are you guys doing now?" Ham says "vacuum" as a couple of their friends come back with various supplies and I say "got it" and they go at this for awhile and they get the ball in the suction thing. They start to bring it up and The Beast gets it and they're all panicking and jumping off the treehouse they were doing the vacuum thing from. Theres a bunch of dust coming from the big treehouse and for a second it looks like it legit blew up. Benny says "holy hell" and I say "you aren't wrong" and the older of the Timmons brother, one of the partial owners of the tree house says "I think we've been going about this all wrong" shaking the dust out of his hair. I chuckle and they go back to getting stuff to make other things to get the ball and they do this for hours. I just watch, other than them occasionally asking for my help and Benny says "oh yeah, I gotta go do this thing my mom wanted me to do, I'll see you all later?" I nod and he quietly says "you wanna come with me?" I say "sure" and we walk to his house and he says "apparently there's a church thing tonight, apparently Marc wanted to say something" and I say "maybe this is what I was talking to him about" and he says "oh yeah!" We chuckle and we go to his house and his mom says "hey, boys, ready to go? You don't have to wear anything specific, ready?" Benny says "yeah, were gonna walk, is that ok?" She nods approvingly and we leave and his hand brushes mine as we walk and I smile saying "what do you think is gonna happen?" He says "either moms going to have a field day going in on Marc or she's going to believe him and I'm not gonna be kicked out if I come out" and I say "worst case and best case scenario" and he nods. He says "indeed" and I say "I think it'll be alright either way" quietly and he says "yeah, I guess" and we get to the church. I mumble "hopefully I'm not gonna burn up this time" and we chuckle and he says "go up in ash and flame" and we chuckle and we go in. We just talk quietly toward the back as people start to flood in, he mumbles "this'll be interesting" and I mumble "we got this, just breathe, love." He nods and we sit towards the back and he rests his hand on mine and I bite my lip and his mom comes in a few minutes later, followed by his dad. They sit on his side and he moves his hand away from mine and I look over at him, his head leaned back just trying not to freak out. I squeeze his hand then I let go and Marc comes in and says "hello, everyone! How are you this evening?" People greet him and he says "yes, I'm very good, thank you, something has recently come to my attention to what I said last Sunday sermon was wrong and hurtful to many people. I would like to say today that what I said was extremely wrong and out of line and many people have misinterpreted the Bible when it says man shall not lie with boy. It means that pedophilia is a sin, not homosexuality. I've done copious amounts of research between Monday afternoon and now, bible and internet research and I've came to the conclusion that homosexuality isn't wrong. Yes, I know that's the opposite of what most of us were taught but I believe everyone is able to change their ways." I bite my lip looking at Benny and he mumbles "three, two, one" and his mom says "how do we know this is right in the eyes of God?" Marc says "where does it say homosexuality is wrong in the Bible and all the biblical texts'? It doesn't say it anywhere, I've read all of them thoroughly these past few days and I took many notes and I couldn't find it anywhere, if you doubt any of what I said, we will have a thorough bible reading every Friday until all of you have been disproven. Thank you for coming here today" nodding and he goes to talk to people that want to talk to them and I turn to Benny and his mom looks very agitated and she leaves, his dad following. I say "that went well" quietly and Benny nods saying "yeah, it really did" quietly and I smile mumbling "lets go talk to him." We get up and he squeezes my hand then we go over to Marc and I say "thank you for saying that" quietly and he says "you're welcome, over looking at myself, I realized it was incredibly wrong after what you said. I'm in your corner, kid" and I smile and Benny shakes his hand saying "I really appreciate too, sir" and Marc says "thank you for bringing it to my attention, guys" and we nod and Benny and I go to his house.
