Chapter 22

I wake up to see to see Kate sleeping so peacefully beside me. I wish everyday gets to be this way. It reminds me of us back in our house. Shit! speaking of our house just reminds me Kate and I are going there today. Do I honestly have to go through this torture again? I groan before walking into the bathroom to prepare for the long day. 

I hear a knock on the door in five minutes time. "Who's that!", I yell from the bathroom. "I've got it", Kate says yawning. yay, she's finally awake. 

I come out to meet Kate and Natalia in the room. "Oh good morning Winter." Natalia says which seems to be a little awkward because she's never said that before. I grin at her and she nods as heads towards the door. "We'll be there in a minute. Thanks.", Kate says as Natalia exits the room. "hey, what's up with the both of you.", Kate asks noticing my attitude towards Natalia.

"She kinda reminds me of Aunt Amber.", I say picking a clothe from the my closet. "That's it?"

"So just cause the young girl reminds you of Aunt Amber you're beefing with her?"

"No, it's not just that. She acts like her too.", I say knowing the next question that's gonna hit me. "How?" I knew that was what she was going to say next. "She has this judgy eye like for example there was this day Josh and I went out and it was a really long day and I didn't have the time to put my room in order and she scanned her eye through the room and gave that annoying look." 

"Oh come on Winter, don't blame the poor little girl, it's completely normal for someone to scan through your room especially if she's a maid."

"Fine.", I say hoping to change the topic. "And you never told me about going on a date with Josh.", She says changing the topic to something even worse. "It wasn't a date."

"Oh really, then what was it?"

"Believe you don't wanna hear the full story.", I say knowing fully that's gonna make her want to hear it more. "I'm all ears." 

"So like one day this asshole comes up and tells me my clothes are from a yard sale and he wants to change my closet just because his parents were coming and I'm like all mad at him for what he just said but I go anyways and when he's done changing my closet he decides to take me to this forest which later turned out to be a disaster because of him."

"So he had the rights to tell you your clothes are from the yard sale?"

"Yup, he did.", I say expecting Kate to come up with something that he'll regret or at least walk up to him and approach him but instead she starts laughing so hard. "Finally! someone noticed you actually got your clothes from the yard sale." 

When we were younger, Kate saved up her money to buy fancy clothes, for boutiques but I thought it was a waste of money so I just stuck to the clothes mom bought for me from the yard sale. Kate always told me one day someone's gonna notice but who cares, which explains why she's laughing. 

"Fine, fine, I should have listened to you but it didn't seem like anyone would ever notice."

"That explains why you look better now.", She says as she continues laughing and soon I join her not even knowing why I am.

"Let me quickly go get ready. Today's gonna be a long day", she says walking towards the bathroom.

"Hurry up Kate so we won't be late for breakfast." 

I hear her throwing up. "Is everything alright in there Kate?"

"Yeah, everything is fine. Chill, I'll be out in a jiffy", Kate says as I use the extra time to pack my hair into a ponytail. I look in the mirror to see if everything is okay. "I wish I was blonde with dazzling blue eyes", I say in a low volume before letting out a sigh. "You're perfect just the way you are little sis", Kate says toweling her body. how did she even hear that.

"Oh you're out already", I say to avoid Kate giving me more lectures on beauty. "What should I wear?", She asks looking in her box. "Honestly, I can't believe you're asking me of all people for what to wear. Hello, you're Kate the Fashionista." 

"Yeah, yeah, you're right. I don't even know what I was thinking before that came out of my mouth", Kate says as I chuckle.

"You know what, I think I should wear this gown. Kate says referring to the short thigh length pink gown."

"Come on, we're not going for a party. Just put on a pant and shirt and lets go"

"A pant and shirt, just like you? not gonna happen. I so this gown winter, you don't know who we might meet. And yeah, don't forget about the part that you're gonna carry out with your own fun while I leave you to go do my own stuff."

Shit! I almost forgot about that part. So she was actually serious when she said it. I let out a sigh as I follow suit after her as she leaves the room.

We enter the dining room and see them already taking their breakfast. "The both of you come join us fast before Tristan finishes the cinnamon rolls", Kayla says motioning for us to come with her hands. "Come on honey, I haven't even taken up to five of them", Tristan says trying to defend himself. "Don't play the innocent cards with me sweetheart, I saw you take the sixth", Kayla snaps back as we all burst into laughter. 

"Wow this tastes really nice Mrs. Taylor", Kate as taking another bite. "Oh dear please call me Kayla."

"Mom says it makes her feel younger when we call her by her name. I still don't get how though because it doesn't change a thing", Edna says as Kate chuckles. "I feel you still look young either ways Kayla", Kate says as a bright smile finds its way to Kayla's face.

The place suddenly becomes quiet. I glance at Josh but he's so concentrated on his food. "It's so disgusting how he eats", I say to myself knowing fully well that it isn't true. "Winter and I would be going out today", Kate finally says breaking the silence. 

I watch as Josh raises up his head when he hears that. What's his deal? after all, he never said anything about going out. Even if he did I wonder why have been so dumb all these time not to have even thought of going out to visit Ash. Kate was right, I'm so gonna stop staying in that house all day doing nothing. 

"Of course dear, you don't need our permission to go out. Go have fun together and don't forget to take a lot of pictures cause when you guys get back I'd love to see them. Well, if it's okay by the both of you. "Sure, we would definitely not forget that part", Kayla says as we both stand up to leave.
