"Who's that?" Josh asked as he walked to up to the door to get it. "What's taking him so long." I said in a low tune standing up and walking towards the door. I could hear whispers from outside so I peep through the small opening on the door. Josh was with some guy with dark brown hair.
"Get off of me man." The man said louder than expected when Josh was trying to come nearer to him. I walked closer so I could hear what they were talking about clearer. It was like they were talking about some club or something. "What do expect me to do I've tried okay, just give me some more time." I heard Josh say.
I was caught eavesdropping when I didn't notice they were done talking and Josh opened the door. "How long have you been here?" Josh asked giving me a really strange look. "Um, about two minutes ago." I said giving him a sheepish look. He sighed shutting the door before dragging me by the hand to the guest room.
"Get your hand off me." I said using my other hand to remove his hand. "Why in the world would you be eavesdropping on something that's none of your business."
"Look, it's not my fault okay? You don't just expect me to sit there while you spend over twenty minutes just to answer the door bell. Every normal person would want to go see what's taking you so long." I said glaring at him. "No, If I were you I wouldn't want to go cause it's none of my business."
"You see, that's the difference between normal people and abnormal people. Normal people care about what's going on around them while abnormal people don't."
"So are you trying to say I'm abnormal?"
"Your words not mine." I said smiling. I've always wished to tell that to someone. "What did you hear?" He asked. "Nothing, I could barely hear anything cause you guys were whispering."
I could see Josh getting more annoyed. "Look, don't spoil this day for me. Act normal and don't do anything stupid like what you just did now." Josh said walking to the living room where the guy with brown hair was.
I walk towards my room as the brown haired boy kept starring at me. I halted when Josh told me to wait. "Winter come say hi to my friend."
"Hi." I said giving him a fake smile. "Hi. I'm Max." He said bringing his hand forward for a hand shake. "I'm Winter, it's a pleasure meeting you."
"Josh and I have been close friends since we were little." Max said as a little smile appeared on his face. "Wow, I never knew Josh had any friends."
"Seriously? Josh didn't tell you anything about us?" Max said grinning at Josh. "Don't give me that eye. She's just been here for two days." Josh said calmly. "But dude, you could have told her that at least you had a best friend."
"Look, I barely know her okay?" Josh said trying to defend himself.
They brake into some dumb argument. "Hey guys! I thought you two were best friends" I asked trying to act like the mature one. "Who said we were best friends?" Josh and Max ask at the same time.
"Max said."
"No, I said we were very close friends. Josh doesn't want a best friend." Max said sadly.
I really pity for him. Josh didn't even show any sign of pity in his face. It's really obvious Max wants to be Josh's best friend but Josh feels like he's too good to Max's friend. If I were him, I'll just stop trying. What would even make him want Josh as a best friend.
"What's the difference?" I ask trying to spice things up. "There's a huge difference" Josh said not even glancing at Max. "You know what? I'm going to my room. Watching you guys fight is hilarious." I said as I walked back to my room after giving both of them an awkward stare.
