"Winter, your dad and I have made a better decision for you". Mom said as she finished setting the table for breakfast.

"We thought it over and over again and we decided since you haven't known Josh well, we think you should go spend more time with him, so you are going to get your things ready and go live with him in his house".

Seriously, are this people insane? They want me to go live with an outsider. Well, that's the best they can do. At least it's better than the last options they set for me.

"So, you are going to pack your things and get ready for his driver".

"But mom, don't you think everything is happening too fast? I mean, in one moment I think everything is okay and then the next, everything seems so awkward and weird".

"You know, everything doesn't go the way you want them to. You have to learn to sacrifice sometimes. I didn't love your father before we got married. It was all planned out for me and there was nothing I could do because I had to keep the family tradition. And you see, he has been a very good husband to me and a good dad to all you".

"But what if Josh isn't like dad. What if he's a jerk?"

"No sweetie, I've told you before. He's a really good guy. Your dad and I have known him since he was a baby. He's the right one for you. I promise." Mom said tapping me on my shoulder in assurance. I don't have a good feeling about this. Well, it's the only option I've got.

"Thanks mom, I'll start packing when I get back from work. I said walking out of the door."

"Aren't you having breakfast before you go?"

"No mom, I'm not hungry."

"Okay, be back early honey".

"sure."

I walk into the coffee shop and everybody is all acting weird. I walk up to Ashley. Ashley has been the only friend I've had since we moved to California. "What's going on?"

"Ray's dead".

"What? You've got to be kidding me."

"No I'm serious and guess what's next, this shop's going to be closed. How comes you didn't see it. I texted you so many times yesterday and you didn't reply. You weren't even answering my calls either."

" I'm so sorry, I was really busy yesterday. How did it happen."

"He was shot. They still have't caught the culprits yet."  Can my life get any better. Ray has been a really good man and a good boss. Who would have been so wicked to shoot him? This town is full of many wonders.

"Things haven't been going too well for me too Ash, my parents are telling me to get married to God knows who."

"What? I thought this was going to be worse for me than you but I never knew yours would be much worse. Are they insane? That's like the worst decision ever. It's child abuse Winter. You should report this to the police."

"My parents would literally kill me if I did that".

"I'm so sorry Winter. I would do something if I can. Don't worry it's going to be okay."

"Thanks Ash."

"I'll be there for you any time you need me okay" She said giving me this assuring smile as I nodded my head in reply. "So are when is the shop closing."

"Tomorrow. That's what the cops said when they came."

"Doesn't he have any relation or friends that are willing to continue the business?"

"Nah, you know I don't know anything about him Winter. Go get your things ready "

"sure." And just when I thought everything was okay. Everything got worse. I'll have to find another place to work real soon. I really don't want to be staying home all day with Josh.

I finished packing my things very early. No matter how hard I tried to be slow. Look at me trying my best so I won't get home early. It reminds me of those days when I used to try being fast so I'll get home early. The bus didn't even delay today. It's as if they have this stuff all planned out. I walk into the house just to bump into a hard chest.

"Who are you?"
