Finding my light

Chapter 4

"Wait, are we sharing a room?"

"No." I hear Josh say from behind. "I wonder why you would think I would want to share a room with you."

"Excuse me? what's that meant to mean?"

"Isn't it obvious? It means I don't like you dummy. Just cause the colors look dull doesn't mean we'll have to share a room." This boy is totally out of his mind. "Are you insane? why would you even...... Why would you even think I would want to share a room with you. Don't give yourself so much credit."I said in disgust.

"Hey look, you can't just run your mouth here. you're in my house now, Not yours. I make the rules here. So if you don't conform to my rules get ready to be homeless."

This boy is worse than the devil himself. I can't believe this was the boy mom and dad were blabbing about being good. He's the opposite of good. I wish I could just squeeze him and throw him outside the window. Right now I don't even know what to say anymore. 

"Ha, silent huh? Now just so I'll be clear. I'm in charge here, so behave. Natalia would give you the rules concerning what you should and should not do. Understand?" Josh said looking me straight in the eye. 

"You know what? You're an asshole." I said going inside my room and slamming the door at his face.I don't know what he thinks of himself. I can't believe he actually made rules. How weird. I wish I could go back in time and stop the origin of this useless family tradition. 

I take my phone to video call Ash just to see so many calls from her. I should start having more time with my phone. I just pray she picks. At least she's the only one that sees this insane. Hopefully she picks.

"Hey Ash. You won't believe what happened. 

"Of course, I want to know why you haven't been answering my calls." 

"I met Josh." 

"Oh my God. Is he hot and cute?" Ash asked adjusting well so she'll here about him. "Yes but....."

"Thank God, I knew he'll be hot. You can't be matched with some ugly guy." Ash said cutting me off. "There's a but Ash." 

"What is it now. you've been matched with some hot guy and there's still a but? What is wrong with you?"

"No Ash, forget his looks he's an asshole. Can you believe he's telling me that I'll have to follow his stupid rules or else I should prepare to be homeless?"

"What? Follow rules? So not my type." Even if he was Ash are you gonna start a thing with him?"
"Actually, I wouldn't have the chance."
" Wait, I thought you said your parents knew him." 

"Yes, but apparently they were just blinded by his parents riches. I wish I could walk over to him and punch him right in the face."

"Then what are you waiting for. If you don't speak some sense into his head now, how do you think you'll cope when you guys get married. They say the earlier the better." Ash said chuckling. "As in. I wish I could do it Ash but, it's almost impossible."

"I understand okay? just try to find a new job soon so you won't have to follow his shitty rules." 

"Thanks Ash. When is Ray's funeral."

"On Friday. That's what I heard. Are you coming?"

"I don't even know. Just pray one of his useless rules don't include me not going out." I said looking at Ash sadly. "Don't worry Winter, even though its included in his useless rules doesn't mean you won't go out. He can't tie your legs." 

"thanks Ash for the advice but I'm not ready to go homeless. Good night."

"Night Night."

I woke up due to the alarm in my room. Why did he set the alarm to eight. I should have noticed the alarm clock earlier. I stand up and go the bathroom to wash up and prepare. I don't even know where I'll go to escape from this jerk. I hear a knock on the door. "Who's there?" 

"It's Natalia. Josh said to tell you to come down." 

"what does he want now." I said hoping Natalia would say something but apparently she just delivered the message." 

I grab a pair of sneakers, pants and a tank top and go downstairs to meet Josh. "What do you want?"

"Sit down and take breakfast. You're going shopping with me today. My parents would be coming tomorrow and I can't afford them seeing you in those dresses you probably got from a yard sale." He said, his British accent being very thick. Maybe he's not completely wrong but he has no right to say that about me.

"What? How dare you say that. My clothes aren't from a yard sale." I said mimicking how he said it in his British accent.

"I guess the sleep killed whatever brain cells you had. Have you forgotten you are not to speak to me like that?" 

"Bitch." I spat back at him walking towards my room. "I guess someone's not still clear with my rules. I said you should sit down Winter." He shouted causing me to shake. This was the first time he mention my name and it didn't sound well in his mouth.

"Well, I'm not hungry." I lied. "Then sit down and watch me eat." He said smirking. "Devil." I said glaring. I saw him sigh which gave me pleasure.I just wish mom would discover how much of a Jerk  Josh is. I was brought out of my thoughts when I heard a loud noise from the kitchen. "Who's there?"
