{Christine}
Did that really just happen? I couldn't stop looking at the ring that now shined on my left ring finger. We were all settled inside Jon's parent's living room. Jon's arm was wrapped tightly around my shoulders as his parents sat on the couch across from ours.
"We're so glad you're here Chirstine," Mrs. Toews commented with a smile. I smiled back at her. Hell, I hadn't stopped smiling since what happened outside. "I don't think there's been a phone call without your name in the conversation since he met you." I felt my cheeks flush pink as I looked over at Jonathan.
"We have some news," Jon told them, that crooked grin taking over his face.
"As much as I want to know now, we should really wait for David," his mom said with a shrug. "He should've been here by now."
Suddenly, the side door creaked open and David, Jon's brother walked in.
"I'm so sorry I'm late," he apologized as he reached down to untie his shoes. "The guys wanted extra time."
"It's alright, take a seat, bro," Jon said, gesturing towards the empty recliner.
"What's up?"
"Jonathan has news,," his mom answered, looking over at us expectantly. I had to admit I was feeling the pressure right now. His whole family staring at us gave me the sudden urge to vomit.
"I'll be right back," I squeaked, throwing my hand over my mouth as I ran towards the nearest bathroom. As soon as I got in front of the toilet, the picnic lunch Jon had planned came up. I heard his footsteps coming toward the bathroom.
"Babe, you okay?" he asked after he knocked.
"I'm fine," I replied, wiping my mouth with the back of my hand. Gross. I thoroughly washed my hands before stepping out of the bathroom. Jonathan took my hand into his as we walked back into the living room.
"Are you alright, sweetie?" Jon's dad asked. I smiled.
"Yeah, I'm alright. Just some sickness."
"Everybody, she's having a baby," Jonathan announced with a huge smile. I was so glad that both of us had gotten a lot more excited about the baby since we first found out. It was a huge relief.
"Oh my god! Grandchildren!" Andree exclaimed as she shot up off of the couch to engulf Jon and me into a huge hug. David and Bryan stood up and soon enough, I was trapped inside of a Toews group hug, and I smiled. Because soon, I would be one of them.

Over the rest of the summer, I was in constant contact with the Toews' parents. They were so loving and accepting of me into their family.
But now, it was opening night at the United Center, and the energy in the building was at an all time high. I waited in the family room for the rest of the girls before we went to our seats.
I was about 20 weeks along, and my baby bump was really starting to show now. It was clearly visible through my sweater that used to be loose. As scared as Jonathan and I had been in the beginning, we had both calmed down and were actually really excited for baby Toews.
Dayna came in first, and her eyes popped open when she saw me.
"Oh. My. God!" she squealed. "Look at how cute you are!" She held me at arms length, looking at my bump.
"20 weeks along," I commented with a smile. She grinned and pulled me into a hug.
"Do you know the sex?"
"Not yet," I replied. "I think my doctor said the next appointment."
"Oh my god, you two had quite the eventful off season," she exclaimed as she grabbed my left hand. "You're going to be Mrs. Toews!"
"What's all the yelling about?" Kelly-Rae teased as she walked in, her cell phone in hand.
"Look!" Dayna laughed as she pulled me towards where Kelly-Rae was standing.
"Wow, it's so beautiful," she commented. "And I think I noticed that belly from a mile away!"
I couldn't help but smile as I reached down to place a hand on my belly. It was kind of amazing, how two people could just create a human life.
The next thing I knew, a very pregnant Amanda Bickell strolled in. "Chris!" she exclaimed with a huge smile. She hobbled over to envelope me in the closet hug we could manage. The last time I had talked to her, she mentioned the due date was sometime in November.
Chaun was the last to the party, and considering she was my best friend, she already knew about the engagement. But, regardless of her knowing, she still gave a squeal and dashed over to me, wrapping me up in the tightest hug ever.
"Let's get a picture before we head up," Dayna suggested. The security person who was posted down there took a quick picture, and then we walked through the lobby, earning some interested looks from the people who knew who we were.
I had to admit it was kind of a nice feeling, having people know that Jonathan was mine, having them know that we were now expecting a baby together.
But at the same time, it was kind of scary. Patrick's girlfriend had told me stories of how there are entire web pages dedicated to the Blackhawks' girlfriends and wives, and how they basically knew everything. It was scary to have your personal life put out there because of the guy you were dating, but it all came with the territory.
"Hey, uhm, you're Christine right?" I heard a small voice stay. Chaun stopped with me as I turned around to see a ten year old girl behind us.
"That would be me," I said with a smile.
"Can we get a picture? You're really pretty," she asked with a shy smile. I agreed and squatted down next to her as Chaun took the picture. "Thank you!" The little girl and her mom waved as we walked away.
"I feel famous," I told Chaun. She rolled her eyes at me and gave me a light nudge. Dayna, Kelly, and Amanda were waiting at the top of the stairs, and I had never felt so comfortable and at home. I had some amazing best friends, a wonderful fiancé, and a beautiful baby on the way. Life was finally headed up for me, and I owed most of it to Jon.
I felt the familiar warmth as I watched warm ups, my main focus obviously on Jon.
"Christine, there's someone here for you," one of the ushers said as they suddenly appeared next to my aisle seat. I turned around to look behind the usher to see a middle aged looking woman, maybe in her sixties. The recognition hit me like a ton of bricks.
"Mom?"
