{Jonathan}
Patrick's sister, Kelly, and her two friends, Macy and Cara, were staying at our apartment. Kelly and her friends were nice, but having three girls take over your apartment for a few weeks was just no fun.
"Jonathan, you excited to see Macy?" Patrick asked me, slapping his hands on my shoulders. He saw Christine at the grocery store, but he didn't know that I had talked to her or got her number.
He was always trying to push for me and Macy to be together. Macy was your typical pretty girl. Long, fake, bleach blonde hair, and pale blue eyes. It wasn't that I didn't find her attractive, but she was just boring. She had no intelligence and laughed at nearly everything I said.
"No, not really," I said. Patrick let out a laugh. He obviously thought I was being sarcastic.
"Come on, buddy. Macy is smokin'," he told me. "If she didn't like you u would go for it." I didn't reply. No matter what I said, Macy would still fall all over me and Patrick would still force her on me.
There was a knock on the door and Patrick went to go get it. Just moments later, the sound of excited girls filled the apartment. Christine stopped texting me a few hours ago. I saw Macy first. She looked prettier than normal. She didn't have her usual heavy makeup on, her hair was in a messy bun, and she had on sweats.
"Hey," she said happily. I stood up and she wrapped me into a hug.
"How are you?" I asked her. She shrugged.
"I'm alright," she told me. There was a silence. My phone buzzed with a text message. I looked down at the name and couldn't help but grin. Christine.
Christine:
So what is an old, crotchety man like you doing hitting on me?
I chuckled to myself before typing a quick reply.
Jonathan:
Who ever said I was hitting you? ;)
"Who's that?" Macy asked me, trying to read my phone. I leaned back and his the screen from her as I hit send. "Come on, who is it?"
"My friend," I said. It wasn't a complete lie. She shrugged and we both sat down. Patrick, Kelly, and Cara walked in. Kelly and Cara looked similar to Macy with messy buns and sweats.
"Welcome to casa de Kaner," Patrick said with a huge grin.
"And Tazer," I added. Patrick rolled his eyes at me and disappeared into the kitchen. He came back holding five beers. He passed one to the girls and me before he sat down.
"So, Kelly, how's the boyfriend?" Patrick asked his sister. I rolled my eyes. Patrick always asked her about her love life. It always ended the same way - with arguing.
"Patrick, does it matter?" Kelly asked. Patrick raised his eyebrows at her. Great.
"Yes, it does matter, I'm your brother," he pointed out. Kelly rolled her eyes.
"Do we have to do this here?" she asked. "My best friends are here, Jonathan's here, I don't want to argue."
"Yeah, Pat, just let it go," Cara said. We all looked at her. Cara was normally quiet, especially around Patrick and me.
"Thank you, Cara," Kelly said. Kelly stood up. "If you excuse us, we're all us exhausted from the flight."
The girls stood up. Macy leaned down to kiss me but I turned my head so her lips caught me cheek. She gave me a concerned look before she followed the other girls to their guest room. I took a drink of beer.
Christine:
Well, you have my number don't you?
"What the hell, dude?" Patrick asked.
"Hmm?" I replied.
"You always let Macy kiss you," he said. I rolled my eyes.
"Not this time, Patrick," I said.
Jonathan:
Yes, I do have your number, and I'm quite proud of myself.
"Jonathan," Patrick said.
"Dude, she's pretty, but she doesn't have a good personality," I told him.
"Oh my god man, you're getting soft on me," Patrick said. "Who cares about her personality? Just bang her."
"Pat, you're such a man whore," I commented, taking a swig of beer.
Christine:
You should be, I'm a great catch.
I couldn't help but smirk to myself.
"What have you been so damn smiley about?"
"Nothing," I lied. Patrick raise his eyebrows at me.
"Tazer, you've always been such a shit liar, just tell me," he insisted.
"Fine, remember Christine?" I asked. He furrowed his eyebrows at me.
"Yeah? The hot nurse? The one at the grocery store?" he asked. I nodded.
"I was talking to her while you couldn't find me, and I got her number," I said.
Jonathan:
Eh, I'm not so sure about that...
"Atta boy, Jonny!" Patrick said. I grinned.
Christine:
Hey now! I don't have to keep talking to you
"Hey, man, I'm going to bed," I said.
"Night, stud," Patrick replied. I laughed.
Jonathan:
Okay fine, I'll admit it, you are an amazing catch
Christine:
Thank you. I can now sleep peacefully with your approval.
Jonathan:
Glad I could help.
Christine:
I'm going to go to sleep, I have a long day ahead of me tomorrow.
Jonathan:
Wait. Before you go to sleep, I need to know if you would like to go for coffee tomorrow morning?
Christine:
I'll think about it. Goodnight, Jonathan.
Jonathan:
Goodnight, Christine.
