*Chaewon's POV*
I woke up with a headache, again. I wasn't surprised, though. I didn't expect anything else. I opened my eyes and looked around, seeing that I was at Heejin's house, sleeping on one of the couches in the living room. I sat up and saw Jinsol who was right in front of me. She had fallen asleep in a seating position. I couldn't help but smile, as I realized that she probably stayed up beside me and tried her best not to fall asleep. Suddenly, I heard a loud knock at the door, which immediately woke Jinsol up. She looked at me and realized that I was awake:
"Oh, Chaewon, good morning. Did you sleep well?"- she asked as she got up and went to open the door.
"More or less, Jinsol"- as I said this, Jinsol opened the door and I saw Heejin walk inside, followed by Hyunjin.
"Where is she?"- Heejin asked, visibly worried.
"I'm right here, Heejin"- I said and this made her head turn towards me. The moment our eyes met, she walked in my direction and sat down beside me on the couch, grabbing my hands and holding them in hers:
"Chaewon, are you alright?"
This question wasn't unexpected, but it still hit me. I could feel my eyes getting watery again, so I looked away from Heejin, who probably realized why I did that. I swallowed the lump in my throat and said:
"Well, you know, I've been better"- at this moment, Hyunjin came up to me as well, crouching in front of me instead of sitting down. She handed me a bag and said:
"Here, I bought this for you on my way. I thought you'd be hungry after everything that happened, so I got you a cheesecake".
"Thank you so much, Hyun".
"It's nothing. Eat up"- she said and gave me a head pat. This small token of attention made me feel a little better. We stayed quiet for a while as they were waiting for me to finish eating. When I was done, I looked up and realized that Heejin and Hyunjin's minds were definitely full of questions, but they couldn't dare to ask me about anything.
"Don't just look at me like that. If you want to know something, go ahead and ask".
"Well,"- Heejin immediately started talking- "we didn't want to push you but since you're down to tell us, we just want to know what happened. You and... her seemed to be doing well".
"Yeah. I didn't expect this to happen"- said Hyunjin.
"To be honest, I didn't either. Everything happened accidentally"- I said this and told them that Hyejoo lied about something and Sooyoung accidentally slipped it when she was drunk, but I still avoided telling them what the secret was. I was angry at her, but I was in no position to spread information about her past, even if it was to people I trusted. I already felt bad enough for telling Jinsol without Hyejoo's permission.
"So, you're telling us that Hyejoo continuously hid something from you and lied to you and you just accidentally found out from her best friend who can't control herself when she's drunk?"- Hyunjin asked and I could tell that she was getting more and more pissed.
"Yeah. That's basically what I just told you"- I replied.
"What was her reaction when you confronted her?"- asked Heejin.
"Well, she didn't try to deny anything. She just tried to explain herself"- as I said this, the sight of Hyejoo from yesterday appeared in front of my eyes. She was crying, begging for me to forgive her, not to leave her, but I still walked away. She called my name out, but I didn't turn back. I just kept running. It broke my heart to see her like that, I knew I was breaking her heart as well. And I still did it. Because it was better for me. At the time, I felt like I was doing this for my own good, but now I just feel like an egoist.
