"How is it your a teachers pet but you couldn't even find out we had a field trip. Out. Of. State." Danielle pokes my arm as we walk towards the front hall.

"Teachers don't have to tell students everything you do know that right?" Jasper laughs.

"Oh come on Jasper" Ares rolls her eyes. "You're playing as if Ohio didn't know like 3 weeks before we were going to have a guess speaker come and talk to us about safe sex in detail then decided to skip school that day and left the rest of us to suffer" she glares at me.

"They weren't going to tell me but I caught them talking about it so they thought why not tell me. I guess this time they really kept it on the DL (down low)" I shrug.

"I don't see how, if I found out I got to take a week off of work to go chill in Hawaii everyone would know" Aries grins.

"Your forgetting the part where you have to watch over 300 teens, most of whom are sexually active or trying to get sexually active" Jasper glances down at me causing me to immediately turn away.

"I hope you two do realize there's going to be four people to a room" Danielle laughs at me.

"Oh no" I gasp dramatically. "I don't know how you two will last" I say referring to Danielle and Aries fucking like newlyweds on their honeymoon.

"Who says I'm stopping just because I have roommates" Aries smirks at Danielle.

"Okay you two are inconsiderate and nasty" I say causing us all to being laughing.

We're nearing the doors when someone suddenly yanks me backwards by my hoodie. I tip over my feet and almost fall until they wrap their arms around my waist once they noticed I wasn't going to land on my feet.

I quickly turn around ready to yell at whoever it was, "What the hell is wrong with you!"

"I was going to call you but I figured it be easier this way" she giggles as I break out of her hold on me. "Come on I saved a seat for you at my table" she grabs my hand and tries walking me back to the lunch room.

"Uhh actually Haile" I pull my hand away from hers, and she immediately stops. "I'm going back to eating lunch with my boyfriend, Aries, and Danielle" I motion behind me.

"But I thought we were-"

"Jasper's back ya know.." Aries shoves her hands into her jacket pockets. "You can quit hanging around my brother like some damn lost puppy" Aries looks her up and down as she lets out an agitated sigh.

"Aries!" Danielle hits her arm then whispers something to her to which Aries shrugs, keeping her eyes on Haile.

"I wasn't following him around just because Jasper was gone" Haile says defensively. "Him and I are.. friends" her eyes soften when she looks at me. "And I'm not some dog!"

"Sorry Haile" I cut in before Aries or anyone can say something else. "I'll catch you in gym tomorrow" I smile at her as I return to Jasper's side, to which he puts his arm around my shoulder.

We begin walking towards the doors, Danielle and Aries following closely behind us. As soon as we leave the building Jasper pulls me into a smiley kiss. He pulls away with a smile still on his face leaving me trying to fight the one on mine.

"Careful Jasper he's gonna pass out" Danielle laughs teasingly as she fans my face.

"Jasper I'm so glad you're back. Ohio isn't sulking around, that girl can't pull him to her table leaving us with damn near no one to sit with, we're back to eating free fast food" Aries' mouth may as well be watering as we make our way to the car. "But anyways let's get back to this field trip thing" she grins, her attitude completely washed away as if it was never there.

"Please Papa!" Aries yells from the floor hugging his leg. "It's only a week please! I'll never be bad or ask for anything ever again, I swear!" she cries out.

"It's $200 per child, that's $600 we'd paying for this field trip" Papa laughs at what he just said.

"Correction: that'd be $400 per child. My friends and I are taking a road trip to New York to check out the art museums and stay in crapy hotel rooms to make memories with each other" November says with a huge smile on her face as she grabs a coke from the fridge.

"And who gave you permission to go to New York for a whole week?" The sarcastic amusement on his face is quickly replaced with confusion.

"Dad" she says before taking a sip of her soda. "He said I was old enough to know not to do anything too stupid" she grins as she rests on the counter. "He told me not to worry about asking you because he said he'd talk with you" she shrugs.

"Oh really now" he smiles with a surprised expression on his face. "Ohio, Aries looks like dad will be paying for your trip after all"

"Can I still have the $200 though?" November quickly asks.

"Why not" he shrugs as he continues his cooking. "He said you can go so he may as well give you money so you have something to do.. hell I'll make sure you get $400" he kisses her nose.

"Papa I'm not saying I'm not grateful or anything but why are you making dad pay for us all of a sudden?" I ask cautiously.

"He gave our daughter permission to drive across three states with her friends for a whole week. I wouldn't have said yes immediately but I still wouldn't have said no" he sighs turning to us. "It's also not a decision you make without telling your spouse first"

"He was probably going to pay for us anyways then just pretend he paid for November too when she's really with her friends" Aries says, getting up from the floor as if she wasn't just on the verge of tears. "Besides November has the kind of friends that wouldn't want to do things like school field trips cuz they think it's dumb"

"November has that cool friend group that are too good for school and you only show up because you have to" I say causing November to chuckle.

"We just prefer to hang out with each other alone instead of with the rest of our class" she smiles. "Plus most of us don't feel comfortable in bathing suits" she says scratching her head. "..just a little gender dysphoria but I'd rather not talk about it. Anyways I'm gonna go start packing" she says nonchalantly before leaving the kitchen.

"I'll have to talk to her- them about that later" papa says as he goes back to cooking. "Or him"

"I think you should let November come to you first before you assume anything" I pat papa's back. "Don't force it" I say as I leave the kitchen and head up to my room.
