Xavier's pov
The training of the pack warriors have started. I assigned Max and Damien and Alpha Logan's beta and delta for this task. I took a day off to take my kids to Samuel. They smiled so brightly when I told him that they are going to meet their father and brothers. I am also dreading on what Samuel will say about giving me a chance. I also want to be a part of my other twin's life.
I could not bring Lorenzo this time because I sent him on a mission to find the activities and whereabouts of these rogues. I highly doubt that some of the smaller packs are also included in this.
"Are we there?" Asked Xander.
"Yes pup. Just ten more minutes and we will be right there."
They are currently talking about the games that they are going to play with them. I already called Samuel about us coming so that he can take leave from the work and spend time with us. And I am damn sure that his friend will also be there to 'protect' him from me.
We finally reached our destination and the kids started opening the door like excited puppies. I went to their side to unlock the door and they climbed out of the car and made a dash, straight to the door. I was just behind them.
I picked Seb up so that he can press the doorbell. Within seconds, Samuel opened the door and called us in. He kissed both Xander and Seb. The kids asked him about their baby brothers and they ran towards the room to play with them.
The thing which hurt the most was him completely ignoring my presence. He turned back to go inside but this time I grabbed his hand and gently turned him around so that he was facing me.
"W-What?"
"I want to talk to you. Please."
"Okay. Talk then." He said.
"No. Not here please. Let's go outside."
He went inside the room and I thought he will not return. I waited patiently for him to come. About fifteen minutes later, he came back and we both went outside the apartment towards the Central Park.
There was an uncomfortable silence between us and I couldn't handle it anymore.
"How are you?" I asked him breaking the silence.
"F-Fine." He replied softly.
"So, about the talk we had earlier, what is your answer?"
"D-Don't know. I can't forget a-anything. Your face r-reminds me of the p-past I want to d-delete. I will never w-want to relive those n-nightmares once again" He said feeling slightly scared.
"I understand." I muttered sadly.
Samuel's pov
"You don't." I whispered.
"Samuel...come and stay with us." I whipped my head with full force into his direction.
"N-No. What K-kind of a joke is t-this" I shook my head in fear. What does he think of himself? May be he will take my pups and throw me out of the pack. May be he will lock me up at the dungeon and torture me like before. Who knows what they are plotting against me.
"No way." "I know what you are p-planning against me. Y-You will take my p-pups and then k-kill me. Who k-knows?" My voice cracked at the thought.
"What?...No Samuel. Never in my dream will I do such things to you." He continued "Try to understand Samuel. Rogues are there in this town. They are kidnapping pack less werewolves. You people are not safe here. No, you are not safe anywhere-"
"YES, I am n-not safe anywhere, e-especially your own pack." I retorted. He sighed heavily.
"Samuel. We have changed a lot. Everyone miss you. Dad, Liam, Arthur and other pack members too. They regret everything they did to you. My dad took it heavily. He just doesn't talk to anyone. They want your forgiveness at this point. Our pups are not safe here. You can bring your friend over there. There might be a war in the future, so I will not be able to look after you all. And if you are at least near my sight, then I don't have to worry that much about you and our pups."
"Then I w-will leave this p-place and go f-far away from here, where n-no one could h-hurt us."
"What about our pups then. Please don't take them away from me Samuel. I know that they need you but they need me too. Just anything but not this." He begged me.
"I w-will think a-about it Xavier. What about S-Sophia then?"
"Don't worry about her. She is in the cell. I assigned guards to keep a close eye on her activities. We are planning to hang her but because of these meeting and other events, it slipped of our mind." I guess I should be happy. She killed my parents and roamed freely. She is the only reason for my never ending miseries.
"O-Okay." I whispered. "How was t-their c-childhood?" I asked him.
He smiled and started telling me the stories of their childhood. I became sad at some point because I missed some important moments of their childhood but I don't want to miss out anymore. Not even a single second. He then asked me about Elias and Elliot. I told him but not in detail. He looked so guilty while listening to me. But his guiltiness will not change anything for me.
"F-Fine." I agreed.
"Huh?"
"I said f-fine, I will go b-but one mistake and I am o-out of that place."
"That also means you are going to give me a chance?"
"I n-never said that."
"In his dream." Cedric huffed. "I don't know whether it is a good decision or not."
"I don't k-know Ced. The thing is I c-can't stay away from my kids a-anymore. Don't worry, like h-he said he won't h-hurt us anymore." I assured him.
"Don't jump into conclusions Samuel."
"I am not C-Ced. I am believing my i-intuitions here."
"Okay, if you say so."
"Okay, at least you are coming." He muttered sadly.
I don't know whether I made a good or bad choice. Let's see what the Moon Goddess has stored for us.
