Xavier's Pov
'Jealousy!'
That's the only thing that I felt when that beta was smiling at my Samuel. What hurt me the most was Samuel returning the smile. I should be the one to do that. I have to do something before he beats me to it.
'He is my mate. We are destined to be together.'
"Do something Xav, I can't lose them once again."
"I know Luc, I know."
He looks at me with such a hurtful expression. This is my only chance or else I will lose him forever. There was such a seriousness in his voice when he warned me about it.
My dad told me that he had a conversation with Samuel. He said he'll try and I hope he does.
Currently, I am standing outside his door, battling with my thoughts on whether to go inside or not. I kept my thoughts aside and gently knocked the door to his room.
Samuel answered the door with tiny Elliot in his arms like a koala. He sure is the clingy one. He cleared his throat to gain my attention.
"Can I spend some time with you all? Please?" I requested him.
"O-Okay.." He let me in the room.
Our pups were playing with their toy cars. Xander and Seb are purposely letting Elias win the race. It was way too adorable to watch them play. I took a seat beside them and picked Elias into my arms. At first, he seemed hesitant but soon relaxed. I continued to play with his hair. I am thankful that he didn't push me away like small kids use to push other people beside their parents away.
"Hey kids!! Do you want to watch a movie with me?" They nodded their heads in excitement.'
I put up a movie named 'Benji'. I really like this movie. And from the looks of our pups, they are enjoying it too. My eyes were not really into the movie but the person sitting at the far corner of the bed. He was also laughing along with the kids. He turned to my side only to look away with a red face to the screen. I yipped internally.
It was only thirty minutes since movie started and my best friend called me to disturb my happy moments. I groaned internally.
"What?" I snapped.
"Whoa whoa!! Come to the office immediately. It's urgent." I sighed. Here goes my happy time.
"Okay. Just let me finish the movie" with my Samuel.
"No. Please come out or I am coming there to pick you up."
"Wait then. Stupid!" He chuckled from the other side. I turned to my pups and Samuel.
"Kids!! Daddy have to go. I will join you later okay." I kissed their heads.
"Goodnight Samuel."
"Good n-night!"
At the office
"What happened?" I snarled at him.
"Okay. I am sorry!! But the matter right now needs to be addressed or we might face problems in the future."
"Problems?"
"Yes. Read this." He handed me an envelope. I started reading the letter and my eyes widened.
"What the hell?" I looked at Lorenzo to confirm it.
"Yes. It is true. We don't even know when they will attack us or the Dark shadow Pack. One more month is left for the training. As per my sources, they are unaware about our secret collaboration with them and other small packs, so we can relax for now but we have to assign more guards to the pack borders."
"Okay. Any other news?"
"I have a suggestion." I nodded him to continue. "Sophia is alive right? I guess she might know about these things. We can interrogate her. After all, she was the facilitator of the previous attacks."
"You are right. I will do that tomorrow morning."
'Wait Sophia. Tomorrow you will finally go away from Samuel's life.'
Samuel's Pov
As soon as Xavier walked out of the room, I released the breath that I was holding. He makes me so uncomfortable. We soon completed the movie and placed my pups into their cribs. They have their names written on it. Xavier was quite confident that we will come into this pack, so he already made arrangements for my pups.
I laid down on my bed and started thinking about my past. I know that I will face trouble sleeping here in this new bed. I am not used to changing places.
Dream
'Water'
There is water everywhere. The current is so heavy that I am not able to come out. I am throwing my hands to come outside but it is of no use. I know my end is near. After few minutes which actually felt like hours, I let myself sink into the depth of the ocean.
'Splash'
I heard a sound of someone jumping into the water. All the energy is drained out of my body. As soon as I was about to hit the bottom, they picked me up and pulled me outside the water. His face wasn't visible but he looked familiar. It felt like a shadow was protecting me.
RINGGG!!!
I literally jumped from my bed in fright.
'Hush!!' It was just my phone. It's only 4:30 in the morning, I guess I forgot to change my alarm settings. I don't want to sleep anymore after that horrific dream.
I went to the kitchen only to find Allison sitting at the kitchen island.
"Hey Sam! Can't sleep?" I shook my head and sat beside her.
"You?"
"Same here. New places are weird. I find it very difficult to adjust."
"Yes. I just had a h-horrific n-nightmare." I told her.
"Want to share it?" I shook my head negatively. She sighed.
"Are the kids sleeping?"
"Yes they are. Could you p-please s-sleep at my room to check on t-them? I will go for a walk to calm my n-nerves."
"Okay, I will. Don't worry."
I smiled at her and went outside.
While walking towards the field, I noticed Chris and Matthew competing with each other in a race. I took a seat there and watched both of them. Chris is winning the race and Matthew is not far behind. Soon Matthew's eyes landed on me and he smirked. He murmured something to Chris and he stopped running and started looking at every direction thereby forgetting his race. Finally, Matthew on the race and Chris started to chase him like a madman.
I laughed at them.
Matthew waved his hand at me and started running in my direction. Chris too followed him as his eyes landed on me. I guess I will not be alone here. We three are only there in this field.
As Matthew was about to reach the bleachers, Chris tripped him over and sat beside me.
"You Idiot. I will kill you."
"That's for cheating."
"That's not cheating. You shouldn't have got distracted when I said your-"
"Good morning Princess!" Chris immediately cut him off.
"G-Good morning." I smiled at him.

I am so sorry for not updating. These online classes, projects and assignments really exhausts me to the core. I will try to update the next chapter soon.
