A/N:
Leo is an American landlord who has moved from LA and Kate lives in the basement of his block of flats with her 2 month old daughter Mia.

Leo: there's an attractive man here to see you, Winslet.

Kate: oh, thats just Jim. He's not attractive but he has come to pick up Mia for the day.

Leo: is he going to be a regular guest?

Kate: of course, he is the father of my baby, Dicaprio. But we aren't together anymore if that's what youre asking me

Leo: you could be with someone permanently if you learnt how to cook. Tomorrow, come upstairs with your daughter and ill teach you how to cook so you can get out of my basement. 😉

*the next day*

"Are you ready to see Uncle Leo upstairs."

She strapped the squirming two month old into the leather baby carrier and set a green dummy between her lips, silencing her cries.

"Alright Mia, let's go. Mummy's going to learn how to cook so when you're a big girl you can eat my healthy dinner"

Locking the door behind her, Kate began the walk up the two flights of stairs, panting at the strain of the leather straps digging into her shoulders.

She soon arrived at the cherry stained door and knocked with the letterbox before taking a now sleeping Mias hands into her own.

"Hey Kate"
He pressed a chaste kiss on her cheek and ushered her into the flat.

"So what are we cooking today?" She asked, her eyes darting around the dimly lit flat.

He shook a box of cake mix, Tescos finest chocolate cake.

Kate sighed "Leo I thought we were cooking"

"We are" He jabbed his hand onto the box before setting it onto the marble side.

"Leo, darling. This is baking."

"Same thing"

"No its not. I know how to bake a cake anyway."

"So you can do that but not spaghetti bolegnese?"

She let out a small chortle and began to undo the straps from her shoulder.

"No, I don't typically eat spaghetti."

"Well you should, its delicious"

He made his way towards her and looked down at the baby she was rocking in her arms. The carrier was tossed onto the sofa alongside the wool pads that salvaged Kate from too much discomfort.

"C-can I hold her" He asked sheepishly, rubbing the nape of his neck.

"Of course."

Hesitantly, Kate handed the sleeping baby over into Leo's arms, and bit her lip.
He had never handled Mia and she had never seen him with any child before, she was unsure about how he would be with her.
