Who's the father?

" I can't believe you, Kate!" Ned yelled from the opposite side of the kitchen.

It was 7am, a much too unholy hour of the day to be yelling at your spouse, but here Ned was.

"What's the matter, Ned?"
She paused from cutting up fruit for the kids breakfast to face him.

"Bear isnt my son, is he?"

Kate gulped.

"Well?"

"No, Ned he's not. I-im sorry. I should've told you sooner.

"I knew it" He gritted his teeth. "Then who is Bears father?"

She hung her head in shame and muttered something under her breath.

"Who?"
She muttered it again

"Fucking spit it out!"

"Bear is Leo's son, Ned. Leo's."

His mouth flew open, his jaw practically colliding with the cold tiled floor.

"I can explain, Ned."

"I don't have time for your explanation, Kate. I'm filing for divorce so you can be with your precious Leo since you love him so much"

Ned began to walk away and she grabbed his arm.

"Get off me, whore"

She gasped as his hand made contact with her cheek and he heaved his hand from her grasp

"You filthy lowlife bastard! You'll be sorry for that."

"I'm the filthy one?" He yelled "you slept with Leo, got pregnant and tried to pass the asshole off as my son! I've raised his son while he goes off sitting pretty for five years!"

"Excuse me, Bear is not an asshole, you are. And I only cheated with Leo because you were cheating with Sophia."

"That was a one time thing, Kate! One time. I don't even want to know how many times you slept with Leo"

She sighed, knowing he was right.
Three failed marriages and three kids.
The only person who had stuck by her was Leo.

"I'm filing for divorce later. End of discussion"

"Do what you like, Ned" She spat "I don't care what you do anymore as long as you're out of my house by five. Oh and you might need this"

She twisted the ring off her finger and threw it at him.

Kate fell to the floor, and Leo watched from the guest bedroom. Sensing that a panic attack was imminent, he ran to her and cradled her in his arms.

"Baby, it's okay, we will work it out."

"Ah, running back to Leo as soon as your marriage fails. I see how it is."

Ned threw a punch at Leo and hit his chin, causing him to fall into Kates shoulder. She breathed heavily at the contact before standing up and kicking Ned in the crotch. She then made her way to the freezer to get Leo some ice, forgetting about her panic attack.

"Kate." Ned winced "Get me some ice too"

She passed him and kicked him again.
"Get some yourself."

"Whore"

"Don't you fucking dare call Kate a whore"

"I can't speak the truth Dicaprio? Fucking dick"

"Get out of my house" She gritted her teeth as she tended to Leo's wound.

"Gladly"

"NOW! ILL MAIL YOU YOUR THINGS"

"when?"

"When I stop being angry at you"

"So never."

"Precisely" She dabbed the ice on Leo's face and brushed his hair back to soothe him.

"Please go, Now"

"Fine"

He slammed the door behind him and Kate immediately burst into tears.

"Oh, Leo are you okay. I'm so sorry he did that to you."

"Its okay, I'm okay. You're okay."

He stroked her hair and she did the same. They were both knelt in front of eachother on the kitchen floor hugging for an hour before Bear woke up and joined in, not realising that his "dad" had left, he was just excited about Leo's surprise visit.

"Bear, how would you feel if i told you that Uncle Leo is actually you dad"

Bear gasped "is he?"

Kate and Leo exchanged a tear filled look before nodding at Bear.

"You're my daddy?"

"Yes teddy bear"

"I love you!"
He threw himself into Leo's embrace, hugging tightly for a while while Kate sobbed watching them.

Leo invited her into the hug and whispered something incoherent into her ear.

"Pardon me?"

"Marry me Kate"

"Is this on a whim?"

"Maybe. But I still mean it. Please make me the happiest man alive and marry me"

"Of course I will you cheesy git"

"Mummy getting married to daddy?"

Kate nodded at the five year old and pulled him and Leo into another hug.

"My dreams have come true, mummy. Thankyou daddy, thankyou mummy."
