TW: death

While waiting outside the ER, Sapnap and Quackity heard "relatives of Karl Jacobs?" called out to the room.

"Here, here!" Sapnap semi-shouted, rushing over to the lady, with Quackity right behind him. "Is Karl okay?"

"I'm sorry, he isn't doing well. He was very weak and malnourished when he got here and-"

"Just fucking tell us if he's okay and if we can see him!" Quackity shouted, tears pouring out his eyes faster than a waterfall.

"Well, I think you can see him but he's very unstable and he could..pass at any moment. We will try everything in our power to keep him alive." The nurse stated, holding her clipboard. "He's in room 482.."

The nurse shook her head. That room was the room that nobody came out alive from.

Sapnap thanked the nurse before rushing with Quackity to the room, tears running down both the men's faces.

They arrived at the room, and saw Karl looking pale and hooked up to multiple machines.

"Oh my god.."

"Hello, Karl Jacobs visitors correct?" a doctor asked the two.

"Yes, he's okay right?" Sapnap asked, wiping his tears away to clearly see the doctor, who had a sad expression on his face. Quackity went inside to sit with Karl.

"Sir, I'm sorry, but we don't think he's gonna make it.."

Sapnap's heart dropped into his stomach. He felt sick, he couldn't even stand up or see straight anymore.

"Wh-what? No, no no Karl's gonna be okay." He stuttered out, holding onto his chest.

"I'm so sorry, sir. We are trying everything but he is unresponsive to most of the treatments, and he's very malnourished. Have you noticed him acting strange lately?"

"He..he wasn't.." Sapnap took a second to think.

The hiding in the bathroom
The way he could barely lift anything or even stand up
The multiple "diets" he had been on recently

"He's been..been hiding in the bathroom.."

The doctor wrote it down.

"Barely eating, but he said he was on diets to me and Quackity didn't question anything.."

He wrote that down as well.

"And he couldn't lift much at all, or even really stand up without a struggle."

The doctor wrote it down.

"Sir, did you ever think maybe..what was your relation to him again?"

"Me and Q are his fiancè's"

The doctor stopped for a second and gave a look of disgust to the man sitting in front of him. "Fiancé's huh?" He said with the most ignorant, disgusted tone.

Sapnap stopped, looked up at the doctor, and with literal fire in his eyes, shouted "AND WHATS WRONG WITH THAT?"

A security officer and 2 nurses came over, confused but ready to drag someone out the hospital.

"What's going on here?"

"This doctor right here is judging me and my fiancé's, I don't know if it's about us being gay or polyamorous but either way I'm not dealing with that."

The security officer nodded, and asked one of the nurses to get a different doctor. The other doctor came and took over the case. Quackity even came outside to ask about Karl's condition.

They all didn't notice the other doctor go in and mess with the machines.

"Well according to what we have written here and how the patient seems to be according to Mr. Quackity right here, we should be able to stabilize him and get him home soon.."

"Thank you so much Doc."

They went into the room, the other doctor having left.

"That other doctor was a piece of shit. He was judging us, Quackity."

"Well, I got that doctors name. We can just report him later."

The two sat with Karl, each holding one of his hands.

"Karl, I'm so sorry. We should've noticed the signs earlier.."

"Sapnap, don't blame yourself. I didn't notice either, remember? He's gonna be okay, Dr. Sandstone said so. Dr. Howard was just messing with us."

Sapnap nodded, and the two went back to putting all their energy (and some tears) into staying with Karl.

Then, Karl opened his eyes just slightly.

"Duckie..? Panda..?"

"Karl! Are you okay?" Both Quackity and Sapnap said completely in sinc.

"I love you both, okay? Remember that..and that doctor definitely wasn't helping.."

"What? Which one?"

"The one in here before..he kept messing with me and it was scary.."

"Hey hey, it's okay. You're gonna be fine." Quackity said, tears threatening to fall down his face.

Karl sighed, making shaky grabby hands at both his fiancé's. "I don't wanna die yet..I wanna get married at our beautiful wedding we have planned. I wanna adopt kids, I wanna see the world with you two.."

"And you won't die, Karl. You'll be completely okay." Sapnap said, trying to sound confident. But Karl could still hear the fear and worry in his voice.

"Sapnap Armstrong, Quackity HQ, I love you both so much.." Karl mumbled weakly.

"We love you too.."

Karl smiled at them and sighed, slowly closing his eyes again.

Beeeeeeeeeep

Sapnap freaked the fuck out. He ran to call doctors while Quackity yelled for Karl to wake up.

And it didn't work.

"Time of death, 11:27pm. Karl Jacobs."

Sapnap and Quackity were a mess, crying in the corner of the room. Karl was gone. He was actually gone.

They called friends and family, telling them the news and asking them if they could take care of the pets for a while. They couldn't believe it.

As they started to plan the funeral, Quackity held Karl's favorite outfit and his favorite hair clips and nail polishes.

"I could put these somewhere, we can keep it for memories.."

Sapnap nodded. They put the things in an empty closet, along with pictures of Karl and many of Karl's belongings. Both of them physically couldn't let go just yet.

At the funeral, everybody Karl was friends with, all Karl's family and the entire DreamSMP was there.

Wilbur was there as a ghost, cause he is still technically dead even though he had been revived from crazy circumstances.

On the gravestone read:
