The Golden Egg

Heroneka had no idea how long a swim she would need to work out the secret of the golden egg. She didn't even know how to swim. The good thing was, that she would do it at night when she would be able to take as much time as she wanted and Viktor would be there with her. He wouldn't let her drown for sure. How was she going to get comfortable in a swimsuit with him being around at the lake though? Reluctant though she was to join him out of the castle at midnight, but the fact that Viktor and Draco were friends, assured her to go ahead. By now, she was assured that Viktor didn't wish to harm her.

As the rest of the students returned from Hogsmeade that evening, Heroneka went around looking for Fay, who was nowhere to be found. She wasn't even at the Great Hall for dinner, or in the girls' dormitory.

"She must be with Andrew Bolton!" Hermione said, looking disgusted by the thought. "I saw them kissing each other at Hogsmeade today. I think they are dating now."

Although the thought of being touched by Andrew made the hair on the back of her neck stand, Heroneka was trying to assure herself that Fay must be alright. She had seen how lovingly Andrew was dancing with her on the Yule Ball.

To her surprise, Oscar had finally brought Remus' reply. He hadn't written back to Heroneka since she sent him an owl after the first task. She ripped open the envelope and read it to herself.

Dear Heroneka,
I apologise for replying so late. I'm sure that you will understand, given my situation. I had to make sure that I wrote to you in my right mind.
Anyway, congratulations on getting past the Japanese Gold-heart. What you did was beyond my expectations. This means that you are finally evolving at a faster rate than before and more angelic abilities are waiting for you to explore them.
Whatever you told me about Andrew and Zagan - just maintain a reasonable distance from Andrew. But you must make sure that you keep an eye on him. He is pursuing Lord Voldemort's path and can't be trusted with anything at all. He is willing to make human sacrifices in Zagan's name just like Lord Voldemort did.
If you have chosen to die, make sure that you die at your own will, not because someone else wants you dead. Pick a moment according to your choice to die. Facing death and giving up your own life has immense power in it. That will activate your latent angelic abilities more strongly when you wake after another death.
Enough of being the princess. You have to get past Gemma's kind, generous and lovely nature. Become the Queen now. Be fierce like your father. Be the maniac he was. I am sure his blood in your veins is waiting to be noticed.
It might sound rude, but if you are meddling with people who work with dark magic, you must walk through that darkness too. Be a part of them, understand them, trick them, and then when they are lost wondering how dark your heart is, show what you are capable of. That was how your father worked.
There have been a lot of signs and both of your enemies are rising back to power. Nobody knows when. So, you must be prepared to face them whenever they arrive.
Stay safe! Keep an eye out for Harry. Don't let him die during the tournament.

Remus wasn't wrong. Heroneka had been so kind all this time. For some reason, she was feeling like something was changing within her. Emotions - thoughts - way of looking at things - dealing with people. Was all this happening because she was finally discovering some traits of her father in herself? He had been a dark wizard, who was more like a ruthless maniac when it came to saving people and standing against Lord Voldemort and his supporters.

She put away the letter and focused back on what was most important at the moment. Heroneka told Hermione that she would be going out of the common room to figure out the golden egg at midnight, but avoided mentioning the lake or Viktor Krum. Hermione didn't think it was a good idea because Filch would be there. But Heroneka assured her that she would be under her Invisibility Shield and go straight to the prefects' bathroom which Cedric had suggested to her.
