The next day, the private jet landed on a tiny air strip. King was still unconscious, so Cathy slapped his face and told him to wake up. She snapped her fingers in front of his face and when that didn't work, then threw water on his head. King trembled with fear and coldness as the temperatures was below what he was use to. Disoriented and scared, King looked around the airplane and outside. His breathing increased when he noticed that he wasn't in America anymore.
"There's our boy; you're coming to your senses now aren't you?" Aleandra smiled.
"Where am I?" King asked.
"Moscow, Russia! My home town," Aleandra replied.
"Moscow, Russia? What am I doing here? Who are you?" King questioned, panicking.
"In due time, come, all will be explained. Put this on or don't and freeze, it's up to you," Aleandra said before he walked away.
Cathy threw a large fur coat at King and then followed Aleandra off the airplane. King stood to follow them without putting on the coat, but quickly retreated to put it on after he felt the cold air rip through his body. It felt like he was walking into a really large freezer. He was sure that without the coat he would turn into a block of ice within minutes.
Once off the airplane, they entered another SUV. King kept his head down as the snow was falling obscuring his vision. Everything was covered in fog and snow, from the trees to the ground. It was a beautiful sight to see, but King couldn't focus on the first time he ever visited Russia. He was too worried about what he had gotten himself into. The SUV took off the minute their vehicle doors were closed. They traveled with two other SUV's which indicated that Aleandra was either someone important or a really rich criminal. They drove to a remotely secluded property with more armed guards. The SUV pulled into the garage where some men opened the doors for them to get out.
Cathy and Aleandra lead the way to a small room in the house. They told King to have a seat and poured him a drink. King refused, since the last drink he took from them made him unconscious. They offered him food, but he still refused. Finally, Aleandra decided to get down to business.
"So, I bet you are wondering what exactly is going on?" Aleandra asked.
"Yes, what do you want from me?" King inquired.
"Well, we want your skills!" Aleandra replied.
"My skills?"
"Yes, you were able to kill hundreds of people without leaving a slight clue as to whom or what did the killing. I want you to create such device for me to use," Aleandra explained.
"Create a device?" King repeated.
"Yes, I want your technology," Aleandra said.
"To do what?" King asked.
"It's funny that you should ask this. You have a choice to make here. You can know all of the details and I kill you once I don't need you anymore, or you can know what you need to do the job, then I let you go free. Which is it going to be, King?" Aleandra glared.
"What do you mean let me go free?" King asked looking around the room.
"I mean, I provide you with the recording Cat downloaded to this USB disk and all other incriminating evidence against you. You do the job and then leave at your own free will," Aleandra said.
"And how do I know that there won't be a link from me to you once you do whatever it is that you want to do using my devices?" King asked.
"I don't want to be linked to you any more than you want to be in jail. The fact is you have to trust me as I have to trust you. I am after one thing here and that is your technology. Give me that and you will have your freedom, along with a hefty amount of money of course. It will be transferred from a church we own in Phoenix," Aleandra explained.
"Are you really a nurse? Did you even like me?" King asked Cathy.
"I am a nurse and I do like you King, that's why you are going to remain alive after you complete your job," Cathy said.
"I wanted to kill you either way, but my sister here persuaded me to leave you alive for possible future endeavors," Aleandra stated.
"What do you say, King? You with us?" Cathy asked.
"What choice do I have, I don't want to go to jail or die. I made promises that I must keep," King said, defeated.
"Perfect, I will show you to your laboratory. You work here until the devices are created and tested, then you leave. In the meantime, anything that pops up in your name will be wiped off the police hard drive and uploaded to us. I will hand it over to you upon completion," Aleandra explained.
"Let's get to work," Cathy said, standing in front of King.
Cathy left the room that they were in and led King down to the basement. There he had a list of items to create and a lot of supplies. There was a television set on the wall, a refrigerator, a bed, a couch, a dining table, a microwave over a stove, a huge bathroom, a desk, a sink, a computer on a desk without internet, workman table and chest. It looked like a miniature apartment and work space all in one. As King took in the beautiful room, Cathy stared at him. She had remorse written all over her face. She waited for his eyes to lock hers, but as soon as it did King looked away. Cathy moved closer to him and softly touched his face.
"I'm sorry; I was just doing my job," Cathy apologized.
"That's what I am, a job?" King asked.
"No, you are more than that now! Look, it's no secret who I am or what I do for a living. I couldn't say that upon first meeting you or I would have never completed my task. During our talks, you changed the way I felt about you and you stopped being a job. I can't show weakness to my brother or he will have me killed like he did my other family members who proved not to be cut out for this business," Cathy explained.
"What about all of that religious stuff you said?" King stated with a raised eyebrow..
"You are a smart man and I am sure by now you have figured out that we are not the good guys. My job was to get close to you and I could tell that religion was the best way to do that. I am so sorry about everything, I really am," Cathy pleaded.
"He is still going to kill me once I am done, so what good are your words? Leave me alone, you have done enough damage," King snarled.
Cathy approached him, "King, I-"
"Leave me alone or it won't be just your brother you are worried about killing you!" King yelled.
King yelled so loud that other guards rushed into the room with their guns ready to fire. Cathy stopped them and followed them out of the basement. She knew that King was upset and nothing she said would fix it, but she couldn't stop herself from trying. She kept telling herself as she walked that she needed not to care about him. However, saying and doing are two very different things. King looked around the room again to see if he was under surveillance. When he didn't find any evidence of video cameras, he guessed that the cameras were hidden. He told himself if he was going to make it out of his current predicament alive, he needed to think like a terrorist. He walked over to what appeared to be his work station and picked up the list.
The first item Aleandra wanted created was a drone much like his, but with more fire power. King knew that creating this device meant a nation was in trouble. He laughed at himself for being a hypocrite, since he had taken the lives of hundreds of people. The question of "Why do I care" popped into his mind, but then he thought of his sisters. "I have sisters now, "King said to himself. If he did nothing else, he had to stop the Russians to save his sisters. He started pacing back and forth from one end of the room to the other. He vowed not to rest until he developed a plan to free himself and save his sisters.
