"No! Please! Don't hurt him!". That is what I screamed out in horrifying terror as I lay my eyes upon Reed who had his claws extended from the tips of his fingers and was threatening to slice open the throat of the man that I have fallen for. My mate.
"One more step and I slice him open Kayleigh! Don't try me!", he repeated once more as he flexed his arm back an inch to showcase once again like he was going to do it.
I can't take this any more. This has to stop! I can't let him hurt him!! "Ok ok, Reed! Please, just stop! I'll do anything! Just don't hurt him!". Tears. The salty taste that was bombarding my taste buds. They were tears. Not tears of fear. Not tears of joy. Tears of pure despair. Reed is going to get what he wants. And I fear that I already know what it will be.
Me.
The grin that fell upon Reed's face was unbearable, but it was not anything close to the stab in the heart that I felt when my eyes locked onto Lucas' as he looked at me with tears overflowing his eyelids. He was crying. I don't recall ever seeing him cry. And seeing this - the way he is - I don't know how I would forget it.
"Kayleigh....don't.", is the words that barely came off of the tip of Lucas' tongue.
I looked away from him. I couldn't stand the despair that had overwhelmed me from being locked in his gaze. Those beautiful eyes. I can't handle it. "Reed. Whatever you want, for his life. Please.".
Reed laughed then pushed the helpless Lucas off to the side on the ground. Leaving him there to lay on his own - wallow in his self pity. I can't bear this.
"Kayleigh. It's you. I have always just wanted you.", then he grabbed a strand of my hair and caressed my cheek with the back of his hand,"ALL of you.", then winked as he suddenly sunk his teeth into my neck to leave his mark.
"AHH!". I looked around and noticed that I was soaked with sweat from the head down. Frantically, I traced over my neck and body. Looking down I was sitting upright in my bed. Tracing over my neck I found it smooth. No marks or bumps or anything out of the ordinary.
The door then bursts open,"Kayleigh! What's wrong! I heard you screaming!". Jason.
I sighed,"It's ok Jason. I'm fine.".
Jason grunts then walks over to my bed and sits on my bedside. He looks up at my face and examines me carefully. He then listens closely to see if my heart jumped to tell if I was lying or not. "Was it the dream again?".
I looked off then nodded slowly,"Yes..".
He brushed his hair down with his hand,"Kayleigh, that dream has happened every week since Lucas has been gone. What aren't you telling me? Is something wrong?".
I shook my head,"No Jason. Everything is fine.".
He listened again. Crap. "No it isn't. Your heart jumped. You're lying to me.".
I sighed,"Jason! I don't want to talk about it! It is freaking 3 in the morning and I have school later! I want to go running but you all have me on lockdown since yesterday, not to mention Lucas is coming home tonight! Can I get some sleep?".
Jason sighs,"I just want to help Kayleigh.".
I layed down and covered myself back with the blanket,"I'm perfectly capable.".
He groaned and stood up and left the room. Of course without shutting the door. That erks my nerves. I sighed then stood up and walked over to the door and shut it. Groaning I walk back over to my bed and crawl back under the covers. Closing my eyes, I fall back asleep.
*Beep beep beep beep* *Smash*
Oops...
Looking over I smashed my alarm clock into bits. This whole wolf advancing thing is not helping me out that much..
