I was on top of a ladder while hanging up a banner when the ladder begins to shake. I wobble a bit then get it steady again.

Groaning, I look down and narrow my eyes,"Brad and Chad! Quit it!".

The twins giggle then nod,"Yes ma'am!"

I sigh, then reach up to pin the banner once again. I struggle a bit because of my stinking height. "Almost there. Come on Kayleigh reach it!!". I stretch my arms one more time then reach it and place the pin in it. I rested back on the ladder and wiped the back of my hand on my forehead,"Phew. Finally!".

Then, the ladder shook again and I fell off. Before I land on the ground, I get stopped by something sending an "oof" out of my mouth.

Looking up, I realize I was caught. I come across the face of a smirking Brock,"Hey there.".

I narrowed my eyes at him,"Hi. Where did the twins go?". They are dead.

He chuckled,"I think the dining room, why do you ask that?".

I huffed out a breath of air to send my bangs out of my face,"So, I can kill them. They have been shaking the ladder all night and this time I fell off. They are lucky you caught me.".

Brock chuckled again,"They didn't shake it this time. I did.".

I narrowed my eyes,"What? WHY! I could have fell!".

He laughed,"Technically you did fall. And I caught you so why are you upset?".

I huffed,"What if you didn't catch me?".

He laughed staring into my eyes,"I knocked you off so that I would catch you. I'll always catch you.", then he winked followed by setting me down on my feet.

I was kind of confused. He knocked me off so he can catch me? I watched him as he walked over to the punch bowl, still utterly confused.

He turned to look at me and smiled,"You ok, Kayleigh?".

I nodded my head then looked away,"Y-yea, I'm good.".

Walking over to him, I stood by him and watched him as he began filling the punch bowl with some powder. I glared at him,"Kool-aid Brock? Really?".

He chuckled then looked at me,"Well, what were you wanting? Whiskey?".

I made a fake wishful face and he playfully shoved me,"Yea yea Kayleigh. You're lucky I'm even giving you kool-aid. Jason wanted me to do caprisun pouches over in the ice chest.", then he looked away laughing.

I crossed my arms over my chest and huffed,"I'm not a kid ya' know.".

Brock laughed then looked at me,"I know you're not. Jason just likes to mess around with you that's all.". He sent one last smile before looking back at the punch bowl.

I sighed then turned to put my back facing him,"I'm going to go to my room and freshen up a bit. I'll be back down later.".

Brock nodded,"Alright.".

I began making my way to the stairs when I heard a knock on the door. I stopped in my tracks. It's only 3:50. I'm not expecting guests for like another hour. Not thinking much about it I proceeded making my way to the door. Resting my hand on the doorknob, I took a deep breath expecting anything to be behind here. Whether it be Lucas, Blake, Jade, anyone. I turned the doorknob and opened the door. I was so relieved.
