Decided to write more interactions between these two since there wasn't much before in the other parts.
Warning: ANGST OF THE GODS. Smut. Cursing. Mature shit.
Enjoy!
Xichen leads Jiang Cheng to his vehicle and unlocks the doors.
"Shall we have a small date?"
"Huh? A date...?"
"Yes, after all we still have a lot to discuss..."
Jiang Cheng sighs a bit and thinks to himself for a moment. While he remembers their previous relationship well, he never really treated their relationship with care. He was cold hearted, and strict. He would most times push Xichen away, and it would cause many disputes between them. It became too much trouble, to the point where they have even split up on numerous occasions. And in the end their relationship was damaged beyond repair all because of him.
"Jiang Cheng..."
"...I....I just..."
"Jiang Wangyin...."
He finally gaze up to the sound of his name and pauses as he realizes how close he was to him.
"You're thinking too much..."
"But.."
"Would you like to know how I honestly felt when we last split in the past? If so...please come with him. I want to be able to explain myself properly. In this life we do not have anything to be too concerned with. We are not leading clans, and have not been tarnished by war...our brothers are happy...the only things that cause us so much guilt is when we look to the past. That was then. This is now.....please give me a chance...."
Jiang Cheng hangs his head with closed eyes, and sighs softly through his nose.
"Okay.."
Xichen smiles and opens the passenger door for him. Jiang Cheng takes a seat as he takes the driver seat. Once buckled up the car is started up and the two were on their way.
"So where are we going?" He asks.
"Somewhere I often go to in order to clear my head..."
'Clear his head...?'
For the entire drive, the atmosphere was tense and quiet. Neither of them could say a word for the time being. There was nothing that could be said. Everything they could have said, was said so many times. What more could be discussed?
Xichen parks in a lot, and when Jiang Cheng looks up out the window he notices the surrounding area. At this time it was filled with people mainly leaving, rather than going. Once he opened the door, the smell of salt water hit his nose.
"The beach...?"
"Yes,"
Xichen steps out his car and goes over to his side as he takes his hand and gently pulls him along as he locks the doors. They carefully walk along the sand, with the smell of the ocean drifting about the closer they got. There were no words to say just yet, and there were no other actions the other was willing to take either. It was just a small moment of peace with their gazes falling onto the waves that were gently crashing along the shore. Xichen releases his hold on his hand and stares toward the water.
"Xichen...."
"Jiang Cheng....back then we left on such harsh terms. I was not sure what exactly was wrong between the two of us. We shared many things. We had many wonderful times. We have had painful times. Comforted one another. Had some fun as well, alongside Wei Wuxian and Lan Wanji. But our troubles lied deep within our hearts and minds. We both were troubled and unable to cope. And the burdens of our responsibilities made it all worse. Of course for you it was much more stressful, you had to watch over the Jin Clan and your own. Teach Jin Ling on how to run it. And also clear up the reputation of said clan even though your hatred for them ran very deep. For the sake of your nephew and brother in law you sacrificed your pride to make it work. And it did. You never spoke of your troubles, and honestly neither did I. There were times where I would not even speak with Wanji about our matters because I knew he would become fairly upset. I wanted no more bad tensions between us all, but that clearly did not work the way I had hoped...after all in the end we both went our separate ways..."
Jiang Cheng remained silent as he listened to his words.
"At the time, I honestly thought it was for the best. However, I recalled many words from Wei Wuxian. Many words from Jin Ling. And many words from Wanji. After our split, even some of your own female companions have spoken of how you just closed off your heart..."
"I did."
"Why..?"
He turns his head and sucks at his teeth.
"Do you even have to ask?!" he shouts. His hands clenched in tight fists.
"Jiang Cheng..."
"It doesn't matter who I am with. Relationship wise, friendship, family. Does not matter, I have come to learn that nothing good ever comes from someone else being around me...!"
"That's not true-"
"Shut up! You don't understand!"
"Jiang Wangyin..!" his hand grabs onto his firmly as his other raises to his cheek. He turns his face to him directly, but his head bows completely to hide his expression. But Xichen felt the very hand he was holding tremble. He knew that this young man was hiding his tears from him. He understood what he was saying, and understood exactly what he was feeling. Long ago in their previous lives, Wei Wuxian had mentioned how Jiang Cheng more than likely felt very guilty about all the events that had taken place. He really believed, that because of him everyone he cared for ended up dead or hurt.
"Jiang Cheng...please look at me..."
Jiang Cheng shakes his head.
"Just go away..!"
"I won't.."
"Leave me-"
His words were silenced completely, by a pair of cool lips far too familiar to him. Xichen slips his arm around his waist and gently pulls him closer to him. His other hand sneaks around to the back of his head deepening the kiss, even going so far as to lightly bite at his bottom lip. Jiang Cheng gasps and tries to move away, but is held onto tightly as a tongue invades every inch of his mouth. His knees begin to give away, completely melting and giving up. Xichen holds him up and breaks away from the kiss, before planting a much gentler one to a tear that was slipping from his eye.
"You-!"
"I'll silence you again, please let me talk,"
With such a threat, he immediately close his mouth wanting to try and at least relax after such a round.
"I know what you're feeling Jiang Cheng....please understand that I would never be damaged because of my being with you. During those times, things were very rough. And while we fought over and over, I knew that really you were trying to shove me away completely so that you wouldn't be able to hurt me...but pushing me away at the end is what hurt the most. I wanted to ease your pains, and worries. Help in healing your traumatic wounds, the way you helped in healing my own after the death of Jin Guangyao. I wanted to be able to open your hear more and more, and give you a loving feeling that you deserve..."
"..."
"I wanted to spoil you. Hug you. Kiss you. Do everything with you..."
"W....why...?"
He smiles softly, and gives him a soft kiss.
"Because I love you..."
