I know I have not been updating, but I am grateful for the comments I have been seeing so here I am once again. So this takes place after everything that had happened at the end after the death of Jin Guangyao. How did Xichen really feel about losing someone who really played him and everyone for a fool?
Lan Wanji, and Wei Wuxian have eloped with one another leaving the mess that was made to be cleaned up by all the other clans. One main witness to the fall of Jin Guangyao, Lan Xichen had remained behind to help, but even with the job of cleaning up, his mind and heart continued to battle. A raging war filled with much sorrow and confusion. All the answers were laid out before him. The pieces to a huge puzzle that had cost the lives of many, put together before him. And yet it was the most difficult thing to accept. Jin Guangyao had done so much wrong, and if he really thought about it so much, he could even say that Jin Guangyao was even more responsible for the sorrow that his own little brother had felt for so many years. Even if Wangji's actions were all his own, there were certain events in the background that had led to such events. The damage that was done to his little brother was tremendous, and it only hurt to watch as well. He knew that his brother desperately wanted to help Wei Wuxian, but he did not want to hurt him. He knew that something was wrong, and even when he tried to speak to him about it he did not listen. And now he is receiving that karma, and has now lost someone who he was close to. Someone he loved, but with one difference. He was a true villain, whose moral values had switched in order to obtain his power, and get rid of those in his way.
'There is no excuse....for any of his actions....and yet this pain in my heart is just too much to bare. Is this how Wangji felt...? Did he feel such pain when Young Master Wei had passed..? Unlike him however.....Yao...does not deserve to be revived or forgiven. He paid the ultimate price....'
There was nothing else that could be done. With nothing else to do, but continue to mourn the loss he decides to remove himself from the scene. As he walks away he feels the eyes of a certain leader staring at him.
"Are you really going to walk away as the others look through the mess? You're a main witness..." Jiang Cheng says with folded arms and a bit of a scowl on his face.
Xichen lightly smiles and turns to him, "My uncle can hear from me later, however right now I honestly need to think."
"What is there to think? Your friend was a killer, and pulled a fast one over everyone with his barbaric stunts, and manipulations. Why should it be so hard to accept that this was the best call?"
"Sect Leader Jiang, please do not try to question anything of me and my own emotions and thoughts. You could not understand. Especially in your own situation that you just seemed to let slide by. Even your own nephew knows better than you," he says with a slight glance to Jin Ling who stands perfectly still as he stares toward the ground unable to make eye contact.
Jiang Cheng steps forward to Xichen, "Sect Leader Xichen are you really trying to test me with your statement?"
"Only if you are merely trying to test me. Unlike your brother who you shoved away so coldly, and allowed to die when you knew there was something wrong, my brother was a real criminal. While not related by blood, we were close. And to know that he had killed so many, and even caused Wei Wuxian to be seen as a blood thirsty killer by using other methods. He used methods that even i had taught him to kill our eldest brother. Do you really believe you could understand my loss?!"
Jiang Cheng swallows his pride and steps back from him.
Xichen sighs and shakes his head, "Excuse my outburst, please excuse me." He steps back and bows before leaving the area.
Jiang Cheng sighs.
"Uncle you really need to learn to talk to people better,"
"Watch your mouth,"
