Modern au part 3: Reunion

Wei Ying sat in his room with thoughts running back and forth in his mind.

'What should I do?'

He wanted to surprise Lan Wanji and be able to just tease him at the same time with his memories now returned. But how to go about it was the question.

'Oh, the rabbits....' He grins and picks up his phone to give his good friend Huisang a call.

"Ah, Wei Ying, you're okay!?"

He laughs, "I'm perfectly okay! Thank you! Ah, Huisang....I remember..."

"Eh?!"

"I remember everything...."

"T..that's g..good! R..right...?"

He gives a slight chuckle, "The downside being that my darker memories still haunt me, but brightside being that my good ones have returned as well...."

"Those darker ones....seems they'll continue to haunt you..."

"It is only fair....after all I chose a much darker path back then using such methods. Those of the underworld would never give me the chance to be at peace with my choices. I chose it. I continue to pay the consequences..."

"Wei Ying...."

"Ah, well lets not discuss that anymore. I'll be paying for it for a long time, so there's no point trying to talk of it and think of ways to stop it."

Huisang sighs, "Okay...then what can I help you with?"

"I'd like to surprise Lan Zhan!"

"Eh?"

"I want to be able to surprise him with the fact that I remember everything. So let me go ahead and get two rabbits. One black and one white please,"

"Oh um okay...."

"Both male please, no female. Too many bunnies in one place is too much,"

"Okay um...do you plan to pick them up?"

"W...well...he will be in class in the morning, and I can give you his school address and class room number,"

"I'm just going to play a song for him with my flute of course, and he'll realize who I am and will more than likely rush to find me fufu~. I haven't teased him in so long, so this should be fun if I succeed,"

"D..don't get him in trouble..."

"Now now, he can choose what he wants to do. And I can do what I want. And I want to sneak onto the campus and sit on the roof and play our song as a lovely declaration of our love."

Huisang could only shake his head at his friend's antics. Though he was glad to hear the happiness that was resonating from his voice. He knew the two had been through so much, and he knew that he had also put them through some trouble back then; but in this new life all he wanted was his friend to finally be happy with the one destined for him. And now that everything is coming to connect, he could only hang back and watch the beautiful moments unfold.
