Two warm figures lay under their bed sheets in silence. It's early morning, and the sun is beginning to rise slowly. However, the sun and its light could not be seen. The sky was covered in a layer of grey, as small flakes of white sparkles fell from above. Winter was here, and now the snow was coming. Lan Wangji awakens on time as always and takes notice of the snow outside. It was going to be colder, and while they could adjust their body temperatures using their cultivation on their own, it was different for Wei Wuxian who has yet to build up his small Golden core more. He takes this fact seriously and grabs another set of bed sheets and lays it over Wei Wuxian's sleeping body.

"Mmm...." he stirs a bit and opens his eyes half way. "Lan Zhan....?"

"Sleep...and keep warm...it is cold,"

Wei Wuxian Huddleston under the sheets and nods feeling the cold air managing to brush at his skin. He closes his eyes again and returns to his slumber. Wangji smiles softly and leans closer to plant a small kiss to his head. He dresses up in his robes made for the cold, and prepares for the day. Once he steps outside he takes a look to the sky. It was as grey as can be with snowflakes falling over the area. Since they were in the mountains, it was far colder than the areas below. He wondered if he should leave his husband in his room with such weather, but he knew that if he were to have any issues he would come find him the moment he wakes up. With that in mind, he decides to head out to handle his duties for the day.

Several hours later, and Wei Wuxian is shivering to the core. He wakes up and immediately wraps himself up in every bed sheet that was covering him. He truly hated the winter season. It was too cold, and it often reminded him of his days when he was attacked by dogs while trying to survive. He would remember all the faces of older people who would look at him in disgust just because he would beg for food or even a place to sleep. But of course, the world wasn't so gentle like that. He couldn't handle staying in one spot any longer, and decides to venture out. He gets out of bed and quickly washes his face, after warming up the water with a bit of fire. He goes to their closet for some clothes, but notices a note left behind on a new set of black robes. He takes the note and reads it.

'Wei Ying, these robes were  made for you, for the cold. It is rather freezing today and is snowing, be careful to not catch a cold. Lan Wangji,'

He smiles gently, "A good man indeed, Lan Zhan." He sets the note aside and grabs the robes that were prepared for him. He dresses himself up rather quickly as he was wanting to avoid the cold air at all costs. He really wanted some extra warmth, and his body and core were not developed enough to where he could raise his won body temperature; so he was left with nothing else to do but huddle his arms into the sleeves of his robes. He knows that by now lessons were still being taught, so the juniors were going to be occupied for a while. With that being the case he decides to venture into the town on his own. He watches the streets be plagued with many villagers in large robes, or cloaks to keep themselves warm, and watched children play in the snow with handmade gloves, and warm cloaks. He would stare and watch them play only to see something else instead. His eyes could see an image of a small boy, running away as snow balls are thrown at him. He chuckles lightly. Children weren't nice to him either as an orphan. They would throw snowballs at him, and chase him away from their homes or the stands of their parents. Dogs weren't the only things that would attempt to harm him. Kids were just as brutal.
