Warning: violence, punishment by whipping, and HONESTLY FEELS

'Shijie....! Shijie....!'

His cried unable to be heard by the now deceased Yanli. He was not even near her body anymore, and he was no where near the sight either. Where was he? It was not like he could really tell. And even if he could it did not matter to him anymore. His family was gone. His sister was gone. The only ones who stood by him were no longer alive. What more could there be a reason to continue to wander in the mortal realm? There was none. He was the famed Yiling Patriarch hated by all, and accused by all of treason and murder. He knew what he had done. He did not know who to blame. He just knew there was no point in trying any longer.

"Wei Ying!!"

'Who is that...?'

Wei Wuxian opens his eyes and looks down to the scene before him. He was beginning to leave his body. His soul slowly pulling away with each breath. But someone was still clinging to him. Who was it?

"Wei Ying..! Wei Ying..!"

This voice was desperate. Crying. Begging. Pleasing.

'Who is this...? Why are they calling for me? I caused chaos...and killed Shijie...who cares?'

His eyes close, but the voice was louder than his own thoughts forcing himself to look clearly at who was calling his name. He squint and notices a man dressed in white holding him closely to his body.

'Lan....Zhan...?'

It was indeed Lan Wanji who was holding onto him for dear life. Clutching onto him so dearly. Saying things to him as a last resort. Shouting out words that Wei Wuxian never believed he would hear come from the prized jewel of the Lan clan. He believed in him. He knew he did nothing wrong. He wanted him to wake up.
He loved him.

'Wait...what? Love...? He what? Lan Zhan...what? Loved him...?! How could he...?! Someone like him...love.....me?!'

He continued to listen, but his mind was made up. He no longer wanted to be in this living world. He just wanted death to finally embrace him.

'Lan Zhan...! Lan Zhan....!' He cried but in his ghostly form, the man in white could not hear him. 'Lan Zhan...just let go of me! Listen to me and let go! It's too late...! Please! Let go! Let go! Lan zhan!!!'

His words just could not reach him. He was not sure whose voice was louder. His or his own. Tears formed at the brim of his eyes as he looked up and noticed several shadows coming forward from the darkness.

'Lan Zhan...get out! Leave me! Run! Don't do this for me!' He shouted but nothing was persuading the young Lan to move.

Instead, Lan Wanji raised his sword up high and held the broken Wei Wuxian closer to his body. His arm trembled as he glares forward to see many elders of his own clan rushing in to confront him.

'No! Lan Zhan...! Don't!' This time he was crying. He was begging. He couldn't look away from the scene before him. This man in white. The one who he assumed hated him most. He was now defending him. Protecting him. Loving him. Doing everything for him. And yet he felt such shame to have let this man down, regret in turning him away many times before, regret in ever fighting with him. He was sorry.

The elders fought and fought until Wanji could not fight anymore. While he defeated all of them his strength was gone. His heart was withering. And his spiritual power was weakening. He fed so much of it to Wei Wuxian, and currently did not have enough for himself. This was the end of the line.
