Silence is all that could be heard as I watch my mother, Catwoman, slip through the air vents of the tall building. I stand there, in a trance, staring up at the building. Am I really doing this? Am I really here? I can't believe she finally let me out into the field. My first mission. All I have to do is follow mom and do exactly as she says. Sounds easy enough right? The realization hits me as I jump out of my thoughts. Ive been standing here stuck in my thoughts instead of following Catwoman like I was supposed to. I follow mom's pathway into the building, rushing to catch up to her.

Tonight is my first time in the field, technically. Mom doesn't let me out much. I mean, come on I'm eleven already. Ive been begging for her to take me on a mission for years. Ive even written it on my Christmas list for the past four years. I have almost kinda halfway mastered my powers. Convincing right? Note the sarcasm.

After shimmying through the air vents for what seems like forever, mom finally stops in front of a vent. Slowly takes her claw and twists off the bolts on the vent so we could get through. She reaches her hand back giving me the vent and jumps out. I gently set it down so it doesn't make a sound and jump out after her.

When I land I let out an "oomph," as I wobble trying to keep my balance. Though it's no use because I fall flat on my butt. I stand back up and wipe my butt from all the dirt on this nasty floor. Obviously the custodian hasn't made it to this section of the building. Looking around the room I notice the multiple cubicles of an everyday workplace. She chose this as my first. Ugh, this is so boring. Mom, who had been watching me to make sure I get out okay, turns and walks, well more like struts, through a doorway into another room. All while keeping close to the wall.

Following her lead, I see the doorway leads into an office of some sort. It's very big and gives off the feel of a library. Catwoman wastes no time looking around, unlike me, and walks over to the computer to plug in her flash drive. Once she does so she begins feverishly typing away on the keyboard.

"So what's the plan here," I whisper to her.

She looks up at me for a second before going back to work, giving me the response, "I hack this computer to find the data on Wayne Enterprise's latest weaponry advancement. While you sit and watch. Keep a lookout. If you see the Bat, run. Do not wait for me. Just run."

I nod my head as a reply even though she can't see me. Mom continues to type on as I decide to explore the office. I look around the room and see a portrait hung in the wall of Bruce Wayne as a young boy and his parents. It doesn't hold my attention long and I begin to move around the room. I walk around the desk before seeing a crystal little statue sat upon it. I think it's a paperweight, but it's in the shape of a bat. How peculiar? I reach out to grab it when mother smacks my hand, not even looking away from the computer. Rubbing and glaring down at my hand I walk away.

I turn to my side and see a HUGE window taking up an entire two walls. I run up to it excitedly. Looking out I see the gorgeous fullmoon out above the city. Below I see lights moving as cars drive about, I see rain falling down onto the buildings, and I see dark alleys just waiting for some unsuspecting victim to come along. Everything looks so beautiful from here. I love how windows are like seethrough walls.

I quickly bore once again and because of it I decide to practice my powers. I lift my hand to see a ball of wind there. Entertaining myself for awhile, I begins to toss the ball of wind back and forth between my hands. After awhile boredom consumes me once more and I lift my eyes looking out the window. I do so just in time to see a man in a black costume with a cape and mask begin to jump through the window.

"BATMAN," I yell to warn my mother as I run to the wall just in time before any glass or batman himself could hit me.

Once I am at the wall I look up to see Batman punch my mother in the face. She stumbles a bit then regains balance before sweeping his feet out from under him. As he falls he grabs mom's arms and flips her over his head so they're both lying flat on the floor. Just then another person jumps through the window. Crap, it's Robin!

Remembering what Catwoman had said earlier, I run. Jumping into the air ducks and crawling through to get away. My gloved hands slightly make a sound against the metal as I crawl through them. As I keep going I hear the sound of another pair of gloved hands crawling behind me.

Hearing the person gain I know that I have to get out of the vents. I look through a nearby vent cover and see it's another cubicle space-area-thingy. Deciding that this seems acceptable I jump through the vent and run into a cubicle to hide. I am barely trained as it is and It's my first time out in the field only for a fight to have started. Oh great, mother will never let me out now.

I had just gotten under the desk in the cubicle when I hear the sound of a cape whooshing and feet landing. I look through the tiny opening and notice a pair of dark black boots. The boots begin to slowly walk around, looking for me.

After they walk past and are gone for a few good moments I crawl out from under the desk as quietly as I can and start to run away back to the vent. I don't even make it two steps before I'm grabbed and put in some hold with my hands behind my back. I easily wiggle free and turn back to look at my captor.

Robin is who grabbed hold of me. He looks to be around my age, eleven. Though he is noticeably taller than me. Everyone's taller than me. He has dark black hair, but his eye color is covered by a mask. Robin wears a red, yellow, and green outfit. On this outfit he has his insignia on his chest and wears black gloves. Oh no fair! He has a cape!

Disguising my voice, well trying to anyways, I say, "No fair! You have a cape! Catwoman won't let me have one!"

He smirks before saying, "if you want it, come and get it."

Oh he has no idea what he's just done, I narrow my eyes before lunging at him. He tries to jump out of the way, but I grab onto his shoulder and swing myself onto his back. Stroke of luck since I've never done that before. He struggles to get me off and I hold on tight, fighting to stay on like a bull rider, before he succeeds in throwing me off. Not before I grabbed his cape though. I had to rip it off of his uniform, which wasn't easy. I smirk at him before tying it around myself.

I fly, well levitate (I can't fly that well yet), just high enough to pull myself into the vent and bolt it off. I crawl away again and look for an exit.

I reach a different end than when we came through and notice the screen still on. Turning myself I kick out the screen and jump, running home through the back alleys as my black ski mask hides my identity. I don't have a costume yet. I probably never will seeing how well tonight went. Mom is very overprotective of her little kitten. That's her little nickname for me.

As I reach home I take off my "mask" and go to take a shower. Before jumping in I catch my reflection and begin to stare, hypnotized by myself. In the mirror I see a young girl with mint green eyes. Deep dark brown, almost black, hair falls down to her mid back with a bit of hair in her face, as always.

After my shower I nap on the couch in our little apartment as I wait for mom's arrival. Hopefully she got away from Batman.
