Light floods into the dark room as I try to sneak out into the hallway. The door soon clicks shut behind me. Tiptoeing I make it into the girls bathroom and reapply my makeup, along with fixing my hair. As I leave I end up stubbing my toe on the side of the doorway.

"Fuck!" I whisper shout.

"Ladies shouldn't swear," chastises a familiar male voice.

Sighing I turn to Dick and say, "When I see a lady, I'll tell her you said that."

He, of course, has a smirk on his face. He opens his mouth about to say something, but just then the bell goes off for last class. He easily gets lost in the crowd as I walk away, smirking as I go.

In Language Arts I sit there idly until the teacher, Mr. Granger (or Mr. G), tells the class to be silent and starts attendance.

After he's done, the lesson begins, "Okay class. Today we are going over the rules and requirements for a new project. This project is to create a song from the heart or sing an already existing song from the heart. If you choose to write your own and sing you will receive extra credit. If you feel the need to practice or if you want to record it and have it played instead, you can visit the chorus room practice studio with permission from me. You can rearrange the words in an already existing song if you'd like. The whole purpose of this project is to get you guys more comfortable with public speaking, to help you be able to work with anyone, to let your poetic skills shine, and to show your creative minds at work. This is due on two months from now also known as January 4th," he says starting to write information on the board.

He then stops as if remembering something before saying, "oh and it's a partner project. I already have picked out your groups. After I'm done giving you the information I'll tell you who you're paired with."

As he writes the information down I lowly take a picture of the board. It's a lot of words and I am super tired today. I hope I get a nerd for the project so I can completely embarrass them. After all the information is written on the board I grab my pencil in my right hand and write down my normal information. Name, date, and class period:
Jennifer Laufeyson
November 4th
Period seven.

He then starts listing off the pairs as I sit their doodling on my notebook paper. He pairs people like Jaime Reyes with Bart Allen and Megan Morse with Victor Stone. He gets to me and I swear I have never wanted to expose myself so much just to kill someone. If you think that my partner is Lucy Napier then you fucking guessed it. Just what I need.

I look to the clock and see I have fifteen minutes left. Since I know that's all we're doing today I pull out my white Samsung Galaxy S5 and white headphones. I play When I'm Gone by Eminem and loose myself in the music.

Have you ever loved someone so much,
you'd give an arm for?
Not the expression,
No literally give an arm for.
When they know they're your heart,
And you know you wear their armor,
And you would destroy anyone who would try to harm 'her.
But what happens when karma
Turns right around and bites you.
And everything you stand for
Turns on you to spite you.
What happens when you become the main source of her pain?
Daddy look what I made,
Dad's got to go catch a plane.
Daddy where's mommy?
I can't find mommy, where is she?
I don't know,
go play Hailey baby,
Your daddy's busy.
Daddy's writing this song,
This song ain't gonna write itself.
I give you one underdog,
And you gotta swing by yourself.
Then turn right around in that song
and tell her you love her.
And put hands on her mother,
Who's a spitting image of her.
That's Slim Shady,
Yeah baby,
Slim Shady's crazy.
Shady made me,
But tonight Shady's rocka-by-baby.
And when I'm gone,
Just carry on, don't mourn.
Rejoice every time you hear the sound of my voice.
Just know that,
I'm looking down on you smiling and not even feel a thing,
So baby don't feel no pain
Just smile back.
And when I'm gone,
Just carry on, don't mourn.
Rejoice every time you hear the sound of my voice.
Just know that,
I'm looking down on you smiling,
And not even feel a thing,
So baby don't feel no pain,
Just smile back.
I keep having this dream,
I'm pushing Hailie on the swing.
She keeps screaming, she don't want me to sing.
Your making mommy cry.
Why, why is mommy crying?
Baby daddy ain't leaving no more.
Daddy your lying.
You always say that,
You always say this is the last time.
But you ain't leaving no more, daddy you're mine.
She's piling boxes in front of the door,
Trying to block it.
Daddy please, daddy don't leave
Daddy, no stop it.
Goes in her pocket,
Pulls out a tiny necklace locket.
It's got a picture.
This'll keep you safe daddy, take it with ya.
I look up, it's just me standing in the mirror.
These fucking walls must be talking, cause man I can hear 'em.
They're saying, you got one more chance to do right
And it's tonight,
so go out there and show 'em that you love 'em 'fore it's to late.
And just as I go to walk out of my bedroom door
It turns to a stage,
they're gone,
And the spotlight is on and I'm singing.
And when I'm gone,
Just carry on, don't mourn.
Rejoice every time you hear the sound of my voice.
Just know that,
I'm looking down on you smiling
and not even feel a thing,
So baby don't feel no pain
Just smile back.
And when I'm gone,
Just carry on, don't mourn.
Rejoice every time you hear the sound of my voice.
Just know that,
I'm looking down on you smiling
and not even feel a thing,
So baby don't feel no pain
Just smile back.
Sixty thousand people
All jumping out their seats.
The curtain closes
They're throwing roses at my feet.
I take a bow, and thank you all for coming out .
They're screaming so loud,
I take one last look at the crowd.
I glance down,
I don't believe what I'm seeing.
Daddy it's me,
Help mommy her wrists are bleeding.
But baby we're in Sweden.
How did you get to Sweden?
I followed you daddy,
You told me that you weren't leaving.
You lied to me dad,
And now you made mommy sad.
And I bought you this coin,
It says number one dad.
That's all I wanted,
I just want to give you this coin.
I get the point.
Fine, me and mommy're going.
But baby wait.
It's to late dad, you made your choice.
Now go out there and show 'em that you love 'em more than us.
That's what they want,
They want you more so they keep,
Screaming your name.
It's no wonder you can't go to sleep.
Just take another pill.
Yeah, bet you will.
You rap about it.
Yeah, word.
K-keep it real.
I hear applause.
All this time I couldn't see.
How could it be?
That the curtain is closing on me.
I turn around,
Find a gun on the ground, cock it.
Put it to my brain,
scream, die shady and pop it.
The sky darkens,
My life flashes.
The plane that I was supposed to be on crashes
And burns to ashes.
That's when I wake up.
Alarm clock's ringing
There's birds singin'
It's spring and
Hailie's outside swinging.
I walk right up to Kim and kiss her.
Tell her I miss her.
Hailie just smiles
And winks at her little sister.
Almost as if to,
Say.
And when I'm gone,
Just carry on, don't mourn.
Rejoice every time you hear the sound of my voice.
Just know that,
I'm looking down on you smiling
and not even feel a thing,
So baby don't feel no pain
Just smile back.
And when I'm gone,
Just carry on, don't mourn.
Rejoice every time you hear the sound of my voice.
Just know that,
I'm looking down on you smiling
and not even feel a thing,
So baby don't feel no pain
Just smile back.
