Oscar

February 27th, 1987

Even though Aspen and Oliver had a screaming match with each other earlier in the month the pair, being true siblings bounced back as if nothing happened.

Aspen simply had grabbed her brother in the corridor and yanked him into an empty classroom to explain everything that had happened.

But the two had another problem.

Their father Oscar. He kept sending more and more letters to them that the siblings stopped answering.

They couldn't find a way to tell their father the love of his life never died and his wife kidnapped her for thirteen years.

As Aspen led Oliver out of the castle without any of the Professor's seeing and sneaking him into Hogsmeade the siblings couldn't help but laugh.

"We are going to get into so much trouble," Oliver said as Aspen covered his ears with his hat.

"Not really. The only Professor who is in charge of this week's visit is Professor Trelawney. She stays in the tea shop trying to read people's tea leaves. We avoid that and we'll be good. Now come on."

Oliver grinned before following his sister into Zonko's.

"This is where I get all my tricks to bother Bill and the boys," Aspen explained as she pointed to stink bongs and flying frisbees.

"How do you not get caught?"

"I never get caught. Unless I want to. Now pick something. I'll get it for you."

That's all it took for first-year Oliver to rush around the store looking for something to show his friends. The door was flung open and Aspen turned to see Charlie and Marie fighting to get inside first.

"Relax you two. Zonko's isn't going anywhere." Aspen said with a laugh before she saw their serious faces.

"What happened?"

Marie shared a look with the second Weasley before looking at her best friend.

"Your dad is here. In The Three Broomsticks. He knows you have Oliver and wants you there now." Marie said and Aspen stood there for a moment.

"He came to check on us. On why we haven't been answering his letters right?"

"That's what he said. But another article came out in the prophet about your mother. And he is asking questions." Charlie said and Aspen nodded before she looked for Oliver.

"Oliver. Next time I'll get you something. Dad's at the three broomsticks waiting for us." She said and Oliver raised an eyebrow.

"Dad's here?"

"Come on."

Aspen grabbed her brother's arm and led him out of the store before walking down the street and crossing to get into Three Broomsticks.

When the two stepped inside she immediately saw her father and couldn't help but smile.

"Dad!" She called out and Oscar's head snapped up and he smiled when he saw his two kids together.

"There you two are! Come on! I ordered food." He said as he waved them over. Oliver sat first next to Oscar as Aspen took the seat across from him.

"So, why haven't you two been answering my letters? I was about to write to McGonagall to see if my letters were getting threw to you two."

Oliver and Aspen shared a look before a waitress came and dropped off a plate of mozzarella sticks.

"What is going on? And I want an answer now."

"Mums alive. She faked her death and was kidnapped for thirteen years." Aspen said not looking her father in the eye.

"What?"

"My mother is alive. All those articles are true. She found me here before Christmas and then came to the manor last month and told us what happened to her." She explained and Oliver winced.

"Kidnapped? Who the hell would do that?"

"Dad. Careful." Oliver warned as he reached for a stick.

"You knew?! Why didn't you say something?"

"Because my mum is the one who kidnapped Aspen's mum and held her prisoner all these years. I just finished processing that!" Oliver snapped before aspen reached over and grabbed him.

"What?"

"Apparently Abigail hated my mother so much she was, as we all know, the one who sent the wrong information to the Aurors so she take my mother," Aspen said as she sipped from her water goblet.

"Roxanne is alive? Where is she?"

"Probably at the manor pissing off my Aunt and Uncle. They are livid because from what she says she got away two years ago."

"She never tried to find you those two years?" Oscar asked and Aspen stared at her father with tears in her eyes.

"I gave up the hope of ever having a mum. I accepted her death at a very young age. I had my Aunt and Uncle and to me, that was enough. But then I met you and Oliver and I was finally happy. But here she is, the woman I dreamt of, ruining everything." She whispered and Oscar's shoulders slumped.

"I am your father! I am here to protect both of you. I know now this has been a shock but you both should've told me. You two have been fighting for months I heard. I could've prevented it."

"Siblings fight dad. It's nothing new." Oliver said with a smile.

"Still. Aspen, with your permission may I release a statement?"

"Sure. Has Abigail seen you?"

"No. She's been to work I hear or at least sending in her assignments. I wonder why the hell she did what she did." Oscar said before he waved over the waitress.

"According to Roxanne, The Carrow family and Rosier family had bad blood between them. My mum becoming engaged to Alexander made her Abigail's enemy. And adding insult, my mum had you when Abigail wanted you.' Aspen explained before she stood silent as the waitress came.

"What can I get you dears?"

"Round of butterbeer. Roasted pork sandwich for me and my son and I believe a chicken and avocado wrap with bacon for my daughter." Oscar said and Aspen grinned.

"Coming right up."

"Butterbeer? I'm only eleven." Oliver said and Aspen giggled.

"Exactly. Only eleven. So how the hell did you get into Hogsmeade?"

"Aspen snuck me out!"

"You little git!"
