Ever since finding the news of Abigail Wood being the reason for Roxanne Malfoy being killed has been released things have changed.
Somehow from Aspen mailing the letter to Oscar, the Daily Prophet has gotten ahold of it and Rita Skeeter has been writing to Aspen about it.
Soon the O.W.Ls would be upon all the fifth years and Aspen currently sat in the Great Hall in between classes and lunch with her work spread out around her.
She heard hooting and Aspen looked up to see Sir Knight swooping into the Great Hall with his beak full of letters. Aspen tried her hardest not to roll her eyes as she held her hand up and Sir Knight dropped them in her hand before landing gracefully in front of her.
Sir Knight was a gift when she started Hogwarts from her godfather Alexander Goyle. She rubbed the back of her finger against his head and smiled.
"Through it all. You have been the most loyal pet to me." She whispered before she handed him a piece of toast some elves brought to her before he took off to the Owl Post.
Aspen placed her letters in her bag before picking up her potions book and began reviewing her notes again.
She heard footsteps and looked up to see her little brother and Bill in front of her.
"Oliver! Aren't you supposed to be in class?" Aspen asked as she looked at her wand.
"Yes, but I have been meaning to speak to you ever since I gave you that letter I found," Oliver said as he shared a look with Bill.
"Oliver I don't blame you about that letter. You had nothing to do with what your mother did." I stated as I looked over at him.
"Then why have you been ignoring me?" Oliver asked and Aspen felt herself flinch as she heard the sadness in his voice.
"I haven't been avoiding you on purpose. I swear! With Prefect duties and O.W.Ls coming up I have just been so busy." Aspen said and Bill nodded as he patted Oliver on the back.
"Like I explained to you multiple times. We have just been busy. Aspen even stepped back from the Quidditch team and had our back up chaser play this season for her." Bill said and Aspen nodded as she began to pack up her notes.
"You should've just came to me Oliver instead of going to Bill about all of this. I am your big sister. And just cause something happened between our parents has nothing to do with the two of us." Aspen explained as she stood up and swung her bag over her shoulder.
"So we are okay?"
"Perfect. Now come on. Let's go to the kitchen and steal some biscuits and sandwiches for later. I know we both have to study to do." Aspen said and Oliver nodded before the three of them began to leave the Great Hall.
Bill led the way to the kitchen where he tickled the pear that soon turned into a doorknob.
"Has it always done that?" Oliver asked as the climbed inside.
"Yea. Took us a couple of months to figure that out. But don't go off telling everyone now." Bill said before the turned and saw five elves in front of us.
"Master Weasley! Mistress Malfoy! It is so good to see you again!" An older elf known as Cece said and Aspen waved to her.
"It's good to see you too Cece! This is my little brother Oliver!" Aspen said and Oliver turned to elves and waved shyly.
"What can we do for you today?" Cece asked and Bill nodded.
"We were wondering if we could get some sandwiches and drinks to go. We have a lot of studying ahead of us." He explained and the four elves went to work.
"Of course. Anything for Master Weasley and Mistress Malfoy! And now her brother too!" Cece said before she turned to go help pack everything up.
"How did you get them to like you so much?" Oliver asked as Aspen wrapped her arms around Bill who kissed her forehead.
"I got lost a lot in my first year. One night I had a ten o'clock detention with Snape and forgot my way back to Gryffindor Tower. Cece found me and helped me back." Aspen explained with a smile.
"Cece's brother, Ed helps Madam Pomfrey in the Hospital Wing. I met him there when I got the flu in my second year. You got to be kind to them and they will help you a lot." Bill explained before Cece cleared her throat and the trio turned to get there things from her.
"Thank you, Cece!" Oliver said and Cece bowed her head.
"Cece is always happy to help! See you soon!" She said as the three Gryffindor's climbed out of the door and began their journey back to the Gryffindor Tower.
"Have you opened Dad's letter yet? He said it would come today?" Oliver asked and Aspen let out a sigh before she stopped walking and opened her bag. A bright yellow enveloped had Oscar's handwriting and Aspen quickly opened it.
Dear Aspen,
I think you must hate me. For staying with the women who were the reason your mother has died and isn't here with you. With us.
I swear upon my life and upon Oliver's life, I have never known that Abigail wrote to the Auror department. Oliver does not know but I have packed our things and have left Abigail. I never truly loved her and a part of me only stood because of Oliver.
Aspen, I beg of you to write to me. Let me know you at least got my letter because I know you sent that letter to me.
I know you must be angry about what happened during your term break and I apologize for that with my whole heart.
I say this as your father. I am sorry and I hope you forgive me.
Your father,
Oscar Wood.
