Siblings Feud
January 30th, 1987
Lucius Malfoy didn't know what to believe. He didn't know how to react.
His big sister was alive, the one that would care for him when he got sick.
The one who took care of him when he was sick. She was the one who took the beatings so that Lucius wouldn't have to.
But he couldn't help but be angry at her. She has been alive!
He has grieved his sister for years. He had helped Aspen grieve since the moment she was old enough to understand Lucius wasn't her father but her Uncle.
Lucius stood staring out into the yard where he saw Aspen chase after Draco on her broom. Narcissa had gone to Diagon Alley to get Roxanne some clothes that would properly fit her.
Lucius heard footsteps and he looked over his shoulder to see his sister walking towards him.
"Is Aspen outside?"
"Yes, she is playing with Draco. My son." Lucius said and Roxanne smiled.
"Does he know of me? That he has an Aunt?"
"He told him you were dead. That you died protecting Aspen." Lucius explained and Roxanne had to fight a flinch.
'Lucius-"
"No! No Roxanne! I still can't understand or comprehend what the hell happened! You have been alive all these years!"
'I couldn't let anyone know! I only just escaped!"
Lucius glared at his older sister and shook his head.
"You escaped two years ago! I inherited the manor you knew we would be here. Instead of coming, you didn't. I want to know why!" Lucius demanded as he faced his sister fully.
"I told you why! I had to protect Aspen! I had to protect my daughter!"
"Aspen is more my daughter than she will ever be yours," Lucius whispered as he looked down.
Roxanne stared at her brother and glared at him.
"Aspen is my daughter! I gave birth to her and I carried her inside of me for nine months. She is my daughter, Lucius! You raised her and I will always be grateful for that!"
"I did more than raise her! I loved her!" He screamed earning Roxanne to close her mouth and stare at him.
"I, along with Narcissa, taught her everything she knows. I taught her magic and how to control her magic so she wouldn't have accidents. I taught her to read and to write. To be a good person." He began as he felt all the emotions well up in him.
"Have I made mistakes, yes. But I did my best with her. I taught her love and I have tried to change my mindset and show her acceptance. But Aspen is my daughter and she will always be my daughter."
"She is my blood. My heir as Draco is your's brother. How would you feel if I claimed him as mine?" Roxanne questioned as she pulled a chair out and sat down.
"If you raised him then I would not blame you for claiming his as yours. Aspen doesn't know you. She knows stories of you. Alexander's family did not keep up with their end of the bargain. They never visited her. Or spoke of him to her." Lucius hissed before laughter filled the air.
Lucius's shoulder's relaxed as the door opened and Draco stepped inside first and then Aspen followed after him.
The cousins stopped when they felt the tension between the adults and Aspen's hands quickly grabbed Draco's shoulders.
Roxanne couldn't help but remember how she would do that to keep Lucius in his place.
Draco stared at Roxanne with a raised eyebrow before looking up at Aspen.
"Aspen, who is this?" He whispered and Aspen smiled softly at him before looking at Roxanne.
"This is my mother, Draco. She is your aunt" Aspen explained as she stared at Roxanne.
"I thought she died."
"So did I, Draco. So did I." Aspen whispered before she looked over at Lucius.
"Uncle? Are you alright?" She whispered as she stepped towards her Uncle. Lucius smiled at his niece and couldn't help but get flashbacks to when Roxanne first placed Aspen in his arms.

"Careful now Lucius. She is only one month old." Roxanne said as she gently placed one-month-old Aspen in seventeen-year-old Lucius's arms.
"Is she meant to be this tiny?" He asked and Roxanne let out a laugh.
"She is a baby Luciu. She is going to be tiny." Roxanne said as she sat back down and watched her brother hold her child.
"What does Alexander say about her being a girl?"
"A normal pureblood saying. She should've been a boy. But she is perfect to me. And perfect to you, her godfather?"
Lucius' head snapped to Roxanne who chuckled.
"I want you to be her godfather. In case anything is to happen to me you take her and raise her. Better than we were." Roxanne whispered and Lucius nodded.
"I promise! I would love to be her godfather!" Lucius gushed and Roxanne grinned as she leaned back.
"Good. I knew you would say yes."

"I'm fine darling. Why don't you take Draco upstairs and entertain him until your Aunt comes back?" He offered and Draco looked at his cousin.
Aspen stared at her Uncle before turning to her mother and narrowing her eyes.
"How long do you plan on staying here?"
"Aspen!"
"No, how long will you be here? This my home. These people are my family. I don't know if I consider you yet my family." Aspen said as she motioned Draco towards the stairs.
"I am your mother Aspen. I am your family."
"No, you are the woman who gave birth to me. Oscar is my dad. Lucius is my other dad as well as my Uncle and my godfather. But the person I consider my mother is my Aunt Narcissa. Who has taught me everything I need to know as a female." Aspen said before ushering Draco up the backstairs and towards the playroom.
"You have turned my child against me."
Lucius stared at his sister for a moment before shaking his head.
"I did no such thing. She has grown up and now knows the truth, Roxanne. And you just don't like it."
