January 17th, 1985Gryffindor Parties
Being a Gryffindor meant that you knew how the Gryffindor's partied. Aspen walked down the stairs into the Common room and laughed when she saw that the seventh years had turned the ceiling into stars.
"Pretty cool right?" Someone asked and Aspen turned to see Marie.
"How did you manage to sneak in?" Aspen asked as she pulled her best friend into a hug.
"Well, there is a seventh year outside letting those who were invited in," Marie said as someone walked by and handed them red solo cups.
Aspen sniffed the drink and almost shuddered when she smelt the fire whiskey.
"Don't be shy now. Maybe if you drink it you can finally tell William how you feel." Marie said as she sipped from her cup.
"He doesn't like me," Aspen said as she took a huge gulp of the fire whiskey and almost gagged. Marie let out a laugh as she patted Aspen on the back.
"Started without me?" A deep voice asked and Bill Weasley made his way towards the girls and smiled.
"Fire Whiskey, Weasley. Catch up." Marie said as she stole another person's cup and handed it to Bill. He lifted the cup up before drowning it all.
"Why are you guys throwing this party anyway?"
"Why not?" Both Bill and Aspen said earning Marie to roll her eyes.
"Gryffindor's. You really do live up to the stereotype." She said as she turned and walked away. Leaving both Aspen and Bill by themselves.
"Are you okay? Usually, you are the life of the party." Bill said and Aspen smiled.
"I have a lot on my mind, Bill," Aspen said and Bill stared at his best friends.
"Can I help? Mum always says I give wonderful advice." He said and Aspen could've sworn it was the liquor speaking because the words were already out of her mouth.
"What advice would you have for a girl who is in love with her best friend?" Aspen said before she stared at Bill with wide eyes.
"Do you mean that or is the fire whiskey making you say those things like how Annabelle Lee was last year?" Bill whispered and Aspen stared at him for a moment.
"I think I love you, Bill. More than a friend and it terrifies the hell out of me." Aspen said and Bill moved closer to the blonde girl.
It was like a movie, the music and everyone around them didn't matter.
"Why? Why does it scare you?"
"My mum had a true love and because of how she was raised she couldn't be with him. And it broke her." Aspen whispered and Bill chuckled as he moved some of Aspen's hair behind her ear.
Something he has done since they met on the train almost four years ago.
"Aspen, don't you realize I would do anything to protect you? I've beaten up Roberto about five times because of you." Bill said and Aspen laughed as she gripped his hand.
"Do you mean it?"
"I like you more than a friend Aspen. I'll give it a shot if you will." Bill said and Aspen smiled as she reached up and touched Bill's face.
Someone bumped into Bill and he flew into Aspen before catching himself and Aspen. They stared at each other for a moment before Bill leaned down and kissed Aspen softly.
"Finally!" Charlie Weasley said from his spot on the stairs. Next to him was Marie and a pink-haired Hufflepuff named Nymphadora who simply went by her last name Tonks.
"Sometimes they just need a little bump," Tonks said as she leaned against the wall.
"They've liked each other since our first year. Took them long enough." Marie said as she sipped on her drink and grinned at her best friend finally looked happy.
"If they get married I better be the best man. I've been dropping hits all Christmas holiday." Charlie said and Marie rolled her eyes.
"Oh shut up and go make out with Elizabeth Dennis from Hufflepuff," Marie said and Charlie grinned.
"Hey girl or guy. If they want to make out with Charlie. Charlie doesn't object." He said before he winked at the two girls and walked away.
"How do you deal with him, Tonks?"
"He's funny."
