Chapter XLIII

School Dreams

March 5th, 1987

With O.W.Ls around the corner, all fifth years have been studying until they have passed out. Two girls from Hufflepuff have already been sent to the Hospital Wing for not resting properly.

Aspen sat in the library with Bill, Marie, Charlie, Tonks, and Alexandra. Tonks and Charlie look at their older friends with worry about being there just in case to remind them to eat and drink something.

"Which one are you most scared to take?" Charlie asked as he closed his Care for Magical Creatures book.

"For me, it's in between Potions and Transfiguration. It's not the professor handling the test, it's actually people from the Ministry." Aspen explained as she placed her quill down and reached for a licorice wand.

"Charms for me. I haven't been going to the classes for the past week." Bill confessed and Tonks snorted.

"How are you a Prefect with all the classes you skip?"

"Honestly I still don't know."

"Do you ever wonder where we will be in five years? Like what our job would be?" Alexandra asked and Marie grinned.

"I want to work in the Department of Lost Artifices. You get to go on these trips and search for things important for the Wizard Government as well as the muggle one!" Marie said and Aspen nodded.

"Either working with the Aurors and Wizarding law. Or even owning my own business." She explained and Bill raised an eyebrow.

"Curse-Breaker. I can travel the world and do dangerous things. Only if the love of my life approves." He said as Aspen opened her textbook.

"As long as you are bringing home money to make me a lovely housewife it's fine."

Charlie let out a laugh earning a loud 'Shh' from Madam Pince.

"What about you Alexandra?"

"I don't know. I was taught the women stay home and we allow the men to bring home the money." She confessed and Aspen nodded.

"We are entering the nineties love, no more letting the men do everything," Aspen said with a wink earning Tonks hair to turn pink in excitement.

As the friend group went back to studying Aspen's mind drifted to what her future would look like. Would she and Bill still be together? Would they be married at all?

She shook her head before the bell rang and Madam Pince cleared her throat.

"Dinner time! Collect all your belongings and begin heading towards the Great Hall!" She said as Aspen pointed her wand at her things and it fit itself in her bag.

As she slung it over her shoulder Bill tugged her hand and raised an eyebrow at her.

"What's running through your mind right now?" He asked as everyone made their way towards the Great Hall.

"If we will still be together in five years," Aspen confessed and Bill stared at her.

"Of course we will be. Do you really think I would give you up?"

"No, but a girl can worry. I mean everyone thought my parents would be together. But they didn't end up together at all." She said and Bill smiled.

"I know a spell. You could see your future if you'd want to." He offered and Aspen raised an eyebrow at him.

"Have you used it?"

"Maybe once or twice." he said with a grin and Aspen stared at him for a moment.

"Are we together in the future?" She whispered as they approached the great hall and Bill stared ahead.

"The time I looked at our future I saw you pregnant on a beach. You're hair was so bloody long and you tied it up with your wand." Bill said before he faced Aspen.

"I'll give you the spell tonight. Now come and eat."

Aspen sat in the common room staring at the fire when she saw Bill out the corner of her eye. His hair was loose and it cause Aspens heart to skip a beat.

She loved his hair long but Mrs. Weasley absolutely hated it and forced him to cut it every summer.

"Don't stare too hard love. You might end up drooling." He said with a grin as he sat in front of her and Aspen rolled her eyes.

"Bug off ginger. How long can I stay in the future before I'm pulled back."

Bill pulled his wand out and shrugged.

"For me it felt like an hour. But Ben told me it was only five minutes. Are you ready?" he whispered and Aspen nodded as she felt Bill press his wand against her temple. She felt the tingle before she gasped.

When Aspen opened her eyes she was in an office. She looked down and saw herself wearing a summer dress. When she looked around the office she saw all the wizard law books she once say at her Uncle's friends house.

"It worked." Aspen whispered as she stood up and made her way to the shelf. She saw a photo of her and Bill at what must be their Hogwarts graduation and she smiled. A knock came to her door before it opened and she saw a little boy run in.

"Mummy! Mummy! Are you done working? Daddy's on the beach already with Tori." The little boy said and Aspens heart skipped.

"Daddy? You mean Bill right?" She asked and the little boy grinned as he grabbed Aspens hand.

"Daddy gets mad when we call him by his name. Come on mummy!" He yelled as he dragged her out the office, down the hall, and out the back door where the beach waited for her.

Bill stood with a blonde girl beside him and a fishing rod. Bill looked older and so, so much stronger and muscular.

"Bill!" I called out and he looked back and grinned.

"Fabian! I see you got mummy out. Go get the worms with your brother Freddy." He called out and Fabian ran away from me to join the little red head boy.

"Twins. I have twins."

"Aspen?"

"Aspen?!"

Aspen blinked and when she looked up she was back in the common room smiling.

"What did you see?" Bill asked as he held her hands.

"Our beautiful future. With our very very beautiful children."
