Aspen was home in her Uncle's country estate from her first half term break from Hogwarts. And truth be told she was glad for it.
Aspen only had a couple of days of the break but her first day she spent the day sleeping.
After getting dressed in her black leggings, Bill's Weasley sweater, and her boots she finally made her way down the stairs to the dining room where her Aunt and Uncle were waiting for her.
"Finally awake?" Lucius asked as he lifted up his mug of coffee. Aspen shot her Uncle a look before sitting down and Bambi brought out her food.
"You remember our fifth year Lucius. It gets tiring after a while. Are you all caught up on work?" Narcissa asked as she folded her hands across the table.
"Nearly. I just have to finish Snape's essay." Aspen explained before the doorbell rang.
All three Malfoys paused before turning to Lucius who was rising from his spot at the head of the table.
"Are we expecting anyone?" Narcissa whispered and Lucius shook his head.
"Not that I'm aware of. Stay here and I will go see who is at the door." He stated as he gently touched his wife's shoulder before walking out of the dining room and to the front door.
Aspen stared after her Uncle before going back to finishing her fruit and toast. Once she was done Bambi took her plate away and brought Aspen a cup of coffee and smiled at the young girl.
"Thank you, Bambi," Aspen whispered before she heard the door opened and looked up to see her Uncle standing there and her father right behind him.
"Oscar," Aspen said as she stood up. Oscar sent his daughter a smile before clearing his throat.
"Sorry for dropping in like this. But I wish to speak with you, Aspen. If you don't mind." He said and Aspen quickly looked to her Aunt who smiled and nodded her head.
"Sure. We can go to the library." Aspen said as she stood up and pushed her chair in.
"Yell if you need anything," Lucius said to his niece before Aspen led her father out of the dining room and into the library.
Once inside Aspen turned to her father and tried her hardest not to cringe.
"How have you been? I remember my fifth year at Hogwarts was beyond stressful. And on top of it all, you are a Perfect as well." Oscar rambled but Aspen held her hand up.
"Why are you really here?" She asked and Oscar froze before sighing softly.
"I am sorry for how Abigail treated you when you stood with us over the summer. I know it must have made you feel horrible."
"No, you don't know." Aspen hissed which caused Oscar to flinch.
"It made me feel as if I should have never come. My Aunt warned me that Abigail never liked my mother but I never thought she would take it out on me who had nothing to do with it." Aspen said as she felt all the anger well up in her again.
"Aspen."
"No! No stop trying to defend her! I am your daughter! I am your blood!" Aspen yelled as she stepped towards her father and glared at him.
"Aspen, please allow me to explain."
"No! Why did you allow her to speak to me like that? You were so happy when I came to your house and introduced myself to you."
"She is my wife."
"She wasn't your first choice. You wanted to marry my mum." Aspen whispered as a tear fell down her cheek.
"I did. She was always my first choice. But your mother chose her path Aspen and you cannot blame me for not being in your life." Oscar snapped and Aspen stared at her father before clearing her throat.
"My mother is dead. And I grew up my entire life hearing stories of my mother and believing my father never wanted me. Then I grow up and find out my father isn't my father!" Aspen screamed as she stepped closer to Oscar who back away.
In Oscar's eyes, he was fighting with Roxanne again. Fighting with the girl of his dreams.
"You know what Oscar. I wish Carrow was my father instead of you! I wish I never asked my Aunt and Uncle about you!"
"You don't mean that," Oscar stated as he tried to calm down Aspen.
"I do! You have been a disappointment my entire life!" She yelled before the library door opened and the pair looked to see Lucius Malfoy standing there.
"I believe it is time you leave Wood," Lucius said cooly.
"Lucius I am speaking to my daughter."
"No, You aren't. You and Aspen are fighting. And as my niece is already stressed enough with school I will not allow you to stress her any longer." Lucius stated as he pushed Aspen slightly behind her.
"She is not your daughter!"
"She is as good as! I stood up all night while she was teething and having nightmares! I taught her how to write and read!" Lucius listed as he stepped towards his sister's ex-boyfriend.
"I did everything you never did! So she might as well be my daughter! She is a Malfoy through and through!" Lucius said before he turned to Aspen and tried his hardest to smile.
"Go to your room."
"But Uncle Lucius. This is my fight not-" Aspen tried to say but her Uncle cut her off once again.
"Go to your room now Aspen Drusilla Malfoy!" He snapped and Aspen jumped back before nodding.
"Yes, Uncle Lucius." She whispered before turning and rushing to her room. Once Aspen was out of the room Lucius turned to Oscar.
"You will leave my home right now."
"Lucius this does not concern you," Oscar said as he fixed his coat.
"It does because Aspen is all I have left of my sister. The one person who loved me before Narcissa did. You will not break her like you broke my sister." Lucius stated calmly.
"Fine. I will leave. But if Aspen wishes to speak to me she can come to my home because I will never step foot in here again."
"You won't be allowed in here anymore."
