Truth Part I

February 16th, 1986

Aspen Malfoy sat in front of the fireplace reading her textbook for Charms when he Uncle Lucius Malfoy came into the room and stood near her.

Aspen was home for one week during a little break from school and she was trying to keep up with all her school work.

"Do you need help with something Uncle?" Aspen asked as she looked up.

"I know your grandmama Carrow wrote to you. And that she told you that Alexander is not your father." He said and Aspen stared at him.

"Well? Is it true?"

"It is and the way you talk reminds me entirely too much of your father. Your real father." He said and Aspen stared at her Uncle for a moment before closing her textbook and looking at him.

"Why did you never tell me?"

"Your mother never wanted you to know. She thought she would live long enough to explain everything to you." Lucius said before he sat down in the chair by his niece.

"I know this, your mother and father loved each other. She thought I didn't know but I remember covering for her when she would sneak out and your grandfather would ask where she was at. She was happy all the time after seeing him and receiving letters from him."

"Why didn't mum marry him?" Aspen asked and when she looked at her Uncle she saw the tears in his eyes.

"Your grandfather was not a nice man. He was a very abusive man and your mother knew if she would've run away with your father, your grandfather wouldn't stop until she was dead. Until they were both dead." Lucius said before he opened his jacket and pulled a folder out of there.

"I will only give you this if you answer me this one question,"

"Uncle, please! If you know who my father is, tell me."

"The question being do you want to know who he is?" Lucius whispered and Aspen froze.

From the moment she could remember it was always her and her Uncle before he married her Aunt and the two of them became her parent figures.

Aspen always heard stories from every witch and wizard she came into contact with on how strong her mother was during the first war.

How she was a double agent and helped with the defeat of the war. But Aspen couldn't remember her for the single fact she was murdered before Aspen could even call her mama.

Aspen held her hand out for her Uncle to place the folder there.

"I want to know my father, I have so many questions for him and I need answers," Aspen said and Lucius stared at his niece before placing the folder in her hand and smiling.

"It pains me at times petal. Seeing you with this determined look in your eyes remind me so much of Roxanne. She was my best friend." Lucius whispered and Aspen couldn't hold back the shocked look in her eyes.

"It killed me that day when Dumbledore came and brought you to me and gave me the news of my sister is dead. Everything I did was to protect her. Even the things I cannot tell you yet."

"You never spoke of her when I was little. It was like you were ashamed of her." Aspen spat out and Lucius let out a deep sigh.

"I was never ashamed of Roxy. Things she did yes but never her. I wanted her to be happy even if we didn't agree on every single thing." Lucius said with a faint smile on his face.

"Your mum was a bit wild and you calmed her down. She would always party like you do and go to muggle concerts but she was the best sister ever."

"Uncle Lucius, do you miss her?" Aspen whispered and Lucius cleared his throat as he stood up and brushed invisible dust off.

"I miss her like the stars miss the moon. She was my own mother for a long time. All I have to remember her is you. If you want to meet him let me know." Lucius explained before he walked out the door and closed it.

Aspen started after her Uncle before she curled up in the chair where he has just sat at and opened up the folder.

Out fell a picture of Aspen's father and when she picked it up she stopped when she saw his light brown hair. Aspen traced over the photo before clipping it with a safety pin before looking at the file.

Name: Oscar Edmund Wood

House: Gryffindor

Wife: Abigail Wood

Children: Oliver Wood (age: Ten years old)

Occupation: Auror for the Ministry of Magic

Aspen didn't hear the door open or see anyone come in before she felt her little cousin trying to climb on her lap.

"Hello, Draco love," Aspen said as she scooped Draco into his arms and he cuddled into her body.

"Who's that?" Draco asked as he pointed to the photo.

"This is my father, his name is Oscar Wood," Aspen whispered as she pulled the photo out and showed Draco.

"Your daddy?" He whispered and Aspen chuckled softly before nodding.

"Yea he is my dad and I am going to meet him soon."
